Various anomalies

I have a few problems.
I have installed Freelancer and added patch 1.1, the unofficialFFSPpatch 1.4, but neither of them work.
I try to re-install, but the message I get is “Already installed”.A hint was on your forum about resolutions.
The only resolutions I have are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x960.
In the past I had 1600x1200.Earlier this year I replaced my motherboard and CPU. (Asus M4N98TD evo and a PhenomII 965 BE)(XP + SP3)
No different from the earlier mobo and CPU except better.Another problem is that in the bases the framerate is 19 and in space it is 60.
The earlier framerate was fine.I would like to try installing Jason’s Freelancer Patch but there are no details of what to do with the unpacked files.
Can some one please tell me what to do for that, and if some of you can tell me what to do about the patches not working on the basic game, it would be appreciated.

What kind of display you use and what is it´s native resolution?
Otherwise the 20 FPS on Bases are because you set the “Video Details” settings on minimum. The 60 FPS are because V-Sync is activated. To deactivate it (which gives you up to 180FPS) use the control panel of your graphic card.

Thanks Syd.
I have an LG 24" 1920X1080. Native and max. 60 fps is max it can render.
I have Nvidia GTX8800 in SLI. A powerful set up.
At the moment my Nvidia control panel will only allow two network lines and nothing else.
I have asked the Nvidia Forum for advice. To correct a mistake I made, I found the Jason patch 1.1 and was able to install it. I was trying to install the update and that was … dumb.
But I don’t know what to do with the files of the actual update. I cant work out where to put ??? Drag and drop ??? the relevant unpacked zip files it has provided me with.
Another question: Do I need to really install V1.1 or the UP 1.4 to carry on with the update path?Sorry to be long winded about this.

jflp.exe detects where Freelancer is installed and installs everything into it - no further action is necessary. jflpdll.zip expects to be installed into the Freelancer directory. That’s it (apart from applying the SP Mission 9 patch). Run Freelancer, go to Options, click down the resolutions and you should see 1920x1080 there. Accept, exit and restart (I didn’t get the initial change right).
I recommend installing V1.1, because most everything you’ll find here requires it. JFLP includes UP1.4.

One more question:
On the “Load Game” screen in the bottom right corner the indicator is V 1.0
When I try to install V1.1 it says I have it installed.
If it is really installed should it read V 1.1 on the Load Screen?
I did right click on the Freelancer EXE and then properties, and version. It says Value 1.0.0.0.
The file version says 1.0.1223.11.(Sorry about the “one more question”)
If I get everything right I’m going to make an ISO of it so I can wipe and re-install for future play.I re-installed FL, then 1.1 patch the UP1.4 patch then JFpl patch and none of them work.
I still have Freelancer V1.0 and the resolutions are still the same originals.
Yet the install says I have the updates installed.
Am I doing something wrong? -
JFLP includes UP1.4, so that’s one step you can save. You also need the additional jflpdll, as it fixes the widescreen support. One way to tell if they really installed is to have a look inside EXE - the official patch adds ReadmePatch.htm and JFLP adds jflp.dll. The reported version number didn’t change (in FLServer.exe; Freelancer.exe didn’t change at all), allowing an unpatched client to connect to a patched server.

Thanks for hanging in there for me.
I had a corruption when I tried manually adding the files.
I’ll see how I go now.
I extracted the flpatch.exe to the Freelancer\EXE folder, then I extracted the JFLPdll.zip to the Freelancer.EXE and it made it’s own exe folder. I then moved it’s contents to the main .EXE folder but nothing changes.
The ReadmePatch.htm and the jflp.dll are both in the Freelancer.EXE folder. One strange thing was that the JFPL.dll stuff was an older date than the stuff already there that it replaced.
