How do you make a base show prices on goods
-
They only show after you land on them.

EDIT: Just noticed Startrader posted at 13:37.

Each dockable base has two ids_info entries, and these have to be linked in knowledgemap.ini. The goods, equipment and ships avaible then show up between these entries, if you require info (and, if you have visited it).
RSabatino could also mean that he expects his base should show up when you e.g. look at the prices for optronics at a given base. You then see a list of bases you already visited, and what they pay for optronics, and whether or not they sell it. A long time ago it was suggested (Iirc by Chips) that bases need to at alphabetical order within the market files. Never double-tested it, but this is how the orginal bases are organized, so it can’t hurt to follow this tradition.
But RSabatino is modifying an existing base, so both cases would already be fixed, it seems to me…. (Unless Prison Station Mitchell wasn’t fully setup already)

(Unless Prison Station Mitchell wasn’t fully setup already)Since the only time you were supposed to land on Prison Station Mitchell was in the SP campaign and never again, as well as the fact that Mitchell has unique base interior files which are probably useless for normal use, it’s unlikely it’s been set up for trade.

As in 1337 ?Yep.

Yay! Fame at last!
5742724032Ah - for this problem where you have landed on a base, and it still does not show in your trade prices list, yo must ensure that the strid_name of that base in universe.ini is the same as ids_name for that base in the system’s .ini file.
And I think the bases must be in strid_name order in universe.ini file too? I’m not sure about this though but I have a problem at the moment with prices being wrong until I sell an item on that base. And my universe.ini files are neither in nickname order nor in strid_name order.
So I have some work to do to fix that. It is easy - just use TinyFish’s INI Editor, select and copy all the columns, paste them into Excel or Calc, sort them the way you want them, and copy/paste them back and save them as a new universe.ini file saving the old one.
Edited- I meant strid_name must = ids_name. lol

That would suck. I’d love to be able to rename e.g. the Planet Manhattan base (starsystem.ini ids_name) into Planet Manhattan, Otisville Docks (Universe.ini strids_name)
But atm I’m engaged in a Photoshop session -digging up my old custom pretty planet files- while ripping a cd and listening to other music (also on the comp - I’m glad to have lived long enough to witness the day that the Photoshop+WinAmp=crash equation no longer holds) so I’m not going to check it out right now. I might be doing so within days, but don’t let that stop you from doing it right away and report back

You lost me, what do you mean?

As we might assume a planet with several billion inhabitants, like Manhattan, might have more than just one space port, I’ve always found it a bit poor that it’s just ‘Planet Manhatten’ where we land down. Why not e.g. ‘Planet Manhattan, Gotham City’ ?
And even on a not too crowded planet, like Planet Harris, the inhabitants might use place designations, the landing point being one of several.
You can do this by simply changing the stridname, but not the ids_name. But you say the ids_name and strid_name have to be the same otherwise the base won’t show up properly in the price lists. Which, if that’s true, I then declare as a phenomenon that sucks because I do wanna use differing ids & strids.
It’s all cosmetics, I know. But that’s what I like about the game.

Ah, I understand. Yes that would be cool.
But I think I’m right - but it has to be checked of course, my memory is fading!

when you go into prison base mitchell its empty but i changed that when i made the order mod that is where i am copying this from. i dont remember if in the order mod the base shows up because i have not played that mod in a long time. so i will leave it as a secret place that only the brave player should know.
