Single Player - Map Revealer?
-
Hello friends. I’ve been trying for hours now to accomplish this task but am failing, so wanted to ask for help and guidance.
Simply put, I want the entire map set as explored and EVERY base, ship, planet, debris field, minefield, floating space monkey, you name it, marked as found on my player in game map. I’m playing single player only, main campaign, mostly stock game.
Please don’t say IONCROSS, I’ve known about that crappy app for years and never liked it, and it’s never been able to reveal everything in game even when ‘fed’ the right files.
There was another thread in these forums that suggested the use of the DSAM tool, which I’ve tried but come up short. It appears that DSAM is geared exclusively for multiplayer characters and servers, which I am neither. The DSAM 1.4.1 tool keeps crashing on me and telling me “Cannot access database - Check your dir etc etc”. I only play single player, mostly stock game with a few small mods here and there.
So please, if someone could guide me in the right direction, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

Disrespecting the Ioncross character editor eh. Love that tool.

Meh, I hate(d) that tool, would prefer not to sling any more mud so I’ll leave it at that.
Finally figured out an extremely convoluted method to get the original goal done, after reading 2nd post. Had to make a mirror install on my other PC, as I couldn’t connect to FLserver from the game on the same machine. Installed FLhook 1.60. Connected, made char, saved. Ran DSAM 1.4.1, it constantly crashed, could never get it working. Ran DSAM 1.3, worked perfectly. Made entire map avail to MP char, verified it took in game. Copied MP char save over to main PC w/game. Decrypted MP char save file and my “main” game save file with FLS1. Copied entire “visited” section from MP char into my good save, removed .txt extension. Crossed fingers, launched game, loaded save.
It worked. Verified everything was uncovered in game against FL Datastorm.
It would be absolutely outstanding if future versions of DSAM supported SP saves as well, setup problems aside it’s a great program.
