Right then, Iām playing in the Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7.
So far, Iām enjoying the mod. Good aditions without taking away that Freelancer-feel I was jonesing for. For some reason though, I canāt seem to post in their forum.Oh well, at least I can kill space pirates. And if that isnāt a worthy consolation prize, something is wrong.

This probably isnāt the right place to post what Iām about to post, but I feel at home in this thread. All my stuff is here.
In the Discovery Mod, have the NPC shipsā perfomance been tweaked? Iām having a real hard time completing regular missions.
I remember back in the day, I stocked my Eagle with bats and bots, got a level holycrapyouregonnadie mission and came back 5 minutes later with loot and credits.
As of right now, itās taking me an average of 30+ minutes to complete level 6 missions (Iām flying a Crusader with level 4 and 5 weapons, Skyrails I think). The ships are all twichy and spastic (not laggy. I remember laggy, this aināt it), changing directions really fast. Combat feels like swatting mosquitos with a baseball bat; as with the baseball-mosquito metaphor, they go down as soon as I hit them. I just canāt seem to hit them.
So then: bugged, modified or am I just a crappy pilot?
Oh, and leave your shoes at the door, I just vacuumed the place.

And which would be the simplest? Bretonia quests take waaaaay to long (mosquito, baseball bat).
I already refused credits some player was giving me because I wanted I wanted to progress on my own pace. Am I going to regret it?
Also, if you think Iām milking the hell out of this thread, feel free to tell me to sod off, get bent, bit your shiny metal ass or anything along the lines.

Yes, it is much nicer in New York but I think I found out why I was having problems. Or at least, what I was having problems with.
I believe it was Light Fighters. The twichy/spastic/fast ships were all light fighters. On my way to NY I fought a few Heavy Fighters and it quite fast.
