Why is the word “starport” or “TSP” also banned on TLR.org? That makes no sense at all, either. You talk about all “for the good of the Freelancer community” BS but that still exists.
As for access there, I don’t really care, you burned your bridges already.

You shouldn’t be so bloody paranoid OP. It was paranoia that caused you to ban them for doing nothing wrong. You shouldn’t take many things I say too seriously either, I was taking the piss with regards to Poly being a suitable apprentice for you, I don’t expect you to see the funny side of it, but then again it wasn’t meant for you. You’re a big boy, just shrug it off for what it is, me taking the piss as usual.

With the day that Ive taken control over TLR the attacks from there stopped.
The attacks have never stopped. We get attacked regularly.
You can consider Folgores statement about ddos as serious as the “•Get OP Skype for his Birthday, if not, gift him a time-bomb” that was said at the same post -> a weird joke
Since we get attacked from a ~700 ip botnet pretty regularly, I’m very nervous about who could be it and why they would do it.
Once it was AzzA, the former hoster of TLR.org, and now a member of a “featured” mod drops such a comment. Kinda gives you an idea… -
To answer your question.
1. Because of TSP users which recently came to TLR and started to post links to TSP on every occasion eventhough the same topics and files could be found at TLR + their try to redirect TLR members to TSP.
2. Because of the removal of certain items from TSP -> such as the Crossfire video
3. Because of meanwhile 2 news items which never got the chance to be posted here.
4. Because also dont allow linking to TLR when people asked old FL related topics. You linked to the FL Archives instead to TLR where these “archives” originally come from.Just to sum up. We had reasons and we have just set up the limitation a few weeks ago as reaction to the previously stated reasons.
The only linking that was allowed from here to TLR/SWAT is that small button on the left of this site. That is about the same that we have on our sites. -
For the Crossfire video, really unsure who did that as it definitely wasn’t the three current admins. Everyone is welcome to post their videos here. I doubt you will as as I’m sure you enjoy holding this issue in your back pocket to “justify” your actions against TSP. Regardless, that makes point 2 garbage.
Recently we found out there was a problem in the news reporting system here at TSP which has since been rectified. So that makes point 3 moot. If you want to post news about Crossfire, go for it. PM the admins here about it and we’ll make sure it gets up.
As for the other reasons, whatever. :roll:

w0dk4 - i can understand that and i am sorry to hear that TSP is still victim of the attacks.
However the topic Azza is done for me. I asked him for TLR and I asked him to stop the attacks against the FL communities involved. Up to now he has kept his word and actually I havent seen him since november 2010.
Next to that AzzA never was the kind of guy which did hide from anything. When he ddosed you then he told you right in the face.Probably he still does the attacks but he doesnt hide at TLR.

I can understand and accept it is possible that news submission did not work due to a software failure. Ok, that happens. We couldnt know that and obviously you didnt notice it aswell for at least 1 1/2 years.@Kazinsal
Do you really think it would be possible to disallow every eventuality that might be misunderstood by readers? If you start writing rules for everything that might happen or that might be said then you end up with a rulebook of thousands of pages. TSP also has no mechanism which would prevent such sort of stuff. The only thing an admin can do in such a situation is react (which I did btw.). Illegal activities itself are not allowed and prohibited by our rules. -
That video thing is news to me. We never remove videos. We receive so few it would be ridiculous to do so. We did however have to remove BROKEN videos. If you have moved the video elsewhere for any reason, the link might have been broken and pruned. This is normal. We don’t want the site to show “error X” when loading, we want working videos. I’m pretty sure one of the Underverse videos was lost at some point because of that.
As for the links, wow, that’s no reason. If somebody keeps spamming about stuff, you ban him. Simple as that. Censoring a word because one user is doing something wrong with it is stupid and counterintuitive. If I started spamming Crossfire links on TLR all the time, would you censor “Crossfire”? Oh wait, you’d have banned me on the first offence. You just find it very practical that you have a good excuse for censoring TSP… Just like when AzzA was around. Funny, isn’t it?
And for the archives, give me a break. We’ve already gone over this and you have no more of an ownership claim on them than we do. You have a tenuous link going through 4 or 5 past administrators and one domain name change. You would NEVER have recovered the data if it hadn’t been for Worfeh. Just drop the fucking issue already.
So basically you have nothing to stand on and are just taking the piss, which is nothing out of the usual. Move along folks.

2. It was not just one member which tried to direct TLR members to TSP and it wouldnt have been the first time that this happened over there (if you remember this is how TSP was created)
3. Maybe you should ask Huor on such matters. He will tell you how rights on website content is transfered from one site owner to another and that it doesnt matter which domain extension the site has. But you also could read on that. There are enough sources on the net. Next to that didnt we receive anything from worfeh when we started to rebuild the TLR databases. We were pretty much able to reconstruct it from our own sources (which btw. explains how we reconstructed the entire TLR databases and not just a few posts and threads).
Funny is actually that you blame us for not allowing links to TSP while you are not willing to link to TLR aswell. What motivation do we at TLR have to allow it when we can not even expect same rights?Well ok, I see that you are not willing to resolve anything. Goodbye, we see us in a few weeks when the next unreasonable claims against my sites appear here.

Honestly, I’d just ban OP. He only shows up to stir (via defending his fair lady m’lord!) and gives 0 contribution otherwise. Most of what he says is utter bullcrap, and the rest is hypocritical codswallop. I’m fed up of him, and I don’t visit TLR or Swat to avoid him…yet here he is. Again. Same garbage…ad infinitum
Some good people post on both sites freely and without issue (Adoxa springs to mind) as they look beyond all this #$%%. For the rest, just stfu and stay away from each other irrespective of what is said. Give people credit, they can read and form their own opinions - they don’t need your self righteous defensive garbage to make them “see the light”.
and for the love of God, ban Op once and for all. He may be wonderful on his own sites, but here he’s a douche. An annoying repetitive one at that.

I’ve got to point this out. Op pm’d me about how it’s him being attacked again (to avoid extending this thread I assume). My point I was replying, is suitable for all - so i’m going to post it, but be a little more aggressive than otherwise.
This entire latest issue is yet again screw all to do with what started it. That joke of a post someone made is sweet FA with all this.
The problem is two groups. Op (almost alone) on one side, and a few people on the other.
Does anyone really believe the DOS came from that person? I personally didn’t…unless it’s Azza/Knife in disguise. No. So why did Op feel the need to “defend” himself again. He doesn’t need to…even I, who doesn’t believe Op regarding most things, didn’t think it was either serious OR tied to you Op any form.
So the post was just an excuse to stir the same stuff up again. Op isn’t here to defend himself - that takes just 2 sentences. So it’s nothing to do with that, and everything to do with things he’s got real issues with. Likewise, same for some here. The post was just an entry point to repeat the same crap again…
Back to “you don’t let, you don’t own, you don’t”… I’m tired of it. I’m sure everyone else is tired of it. Op - I’ve said before, you need to STOP trying to “defend” your site - and since you never do, I really wish they’d ban you here. Then it’d #$%% stop!
Yes, Op is part of causing this issue. If you hadn’t posted Op, no-one would have noticed let alone believed that they were DOS’ing the Starport, or that you’re involved. Period. Instead you’re blowing it up once more, and returning to the same old arguments.
However, this doesn’t mean I don’t realise some people here obviously have deep seated annoyances. If the DOS are a daily occurrence, why do we only hear about it when there’s some very very tenuous and obvious joke posted by someone elsewhere…
Honestly, get banning. I single Op out simply because he doesn’t contribute here, but does cause trouble. Yes, he’s provoked by some people here who also need a good slapping - but they do post, do help, do contribute. So my resolution would be to ban Op and hope either people ignore lame posts attempting to generate reactions, or it finally dies down as people start to ignore the petty crap that gets posted.
Why? Because otherwise this will keep happening. Yeah, he may whine and bitch about it elsewhere, about how terrible yadda yadda - who gives a flying monkeys arse. Let people make their own minds up.
Grow some sacks, ban him, and stop winding him up. It was funny the first few times, now it’s really really irritating.

For me it wasnt all that farfetched. I have never heard of that Folgore guy and them being active only and exclusively on TLR.org puts them in a certain light for me. Also, I never said Op or TLR staff did it.
And as for why you dont hear about DDOS attacks daily is because they are not daily. They are every few weeks for a few days. And you dont really notice them because I’ve spent a good chunk of time to deal with them automatically when they do occur. I find it rather offensive that you are telling me that I use fake DDOS attacks as an excuse for attacking some random modder.

I think you are misunderstanding the context of parts of my post.
The part about the post being to stir stuff up is nothing to do with what you posted, everything to do with Op’s post. He wasn’t here to defend, there’s nothing to defend. If he came to defend…erm…something, then he should have asked Folgore for what he meant in his post. He didn’t. Or at least he gives no indication - instead going on about himself. Again.
Furthermore - his posts concentrate upon the same old issues rather than the supposed one in hand. That I found to be stirring things up.

That probably doesn’t make things better in your eyes, but when I read your post about it I did chuckle.So I view Op’s posting, not as a defence, but an opportunity to continue the same old saga crap as before.
Hence my post. Remove YOUR post as the “starting point” in this thread, and Op’s posts could be transferred to any of the other threads he’s been involved in - and pretty much fit exactly in once more.
That’s my issue, and why I think he should be banned. There’s no defending, there’s nothing - it’s straight into the same old crap as always. His motivation to post isn’t to address things maturely, or reasonably, or logically. It’s to get stuck in with the points he is obviously deeply offended over - the database, the lack of video yadda yadda.
He may say it was to defend his site/himself, I’d disagree. Either that or he is bloody incompetent at defending things, because 3 simple non-inflammatory lines could have easily dismissed any concerns whilst making himself look good. I don’t dislike Op, but I do think his posting here, and his justifications are horribly misguided - and I think he intentionally brings up the same old stuff, and will continue to do so, whenever there’s even the slightest hint at a possible entry point to do so.

Actually how many active admins here are against OP? In my eyes the majority. But uhm well. Thats how it is - unfortunate its ending with prejudges of each side.Its totally useless Chips to remove the starting point. You can remove every starting point and claim everything that comes after it has no relation and can be sorted to a numerous of events. Additional to that i don’t think OP was defending at all. W0dka made a “joke” about a “joke”. OP tried to clarify a few things in my eyes - yet no defence. Knowing about that such jokes are a very sensitive topic - i am asking why it was made then - if not to stir up the old crap?
Indeed its always the same - about the same crap. The issue - if it ever was one - could have been resolved by PMs between both admins. But i know that communication on this level is nearly impossible - mainly because of the differences of the past. Or some might think they are too fine for it. I don’t know.
If some of you are up to quarrel with OP - why not making a suggestion how to solve it?
Sadly for me - i am in between all this crap. On one side i often come here to read news about modding projects and eventually to learn something. On the other side i am also a long term member of SWAT. You often speak bad about SWAT mainly because just you have some differences with the admin there, that i feel bad just because i am there. And in the same way i feel bad to be here just because there are differences between SWAT and TSP.I never had an insight in the TLR things but i can imagine its about the same crap. I really hope there will once the day where the crap can be buried and both admin teams can make a step towards each other and not in the opposite direction. That could work if not everyone is pointing fingers at everybody, revealing long history events - that really a few have witnessed (me excluded).
As for the bans: You can ban anyone without even notifying, without reason. Its the admins decision, its their home. They may throw out who they deem to see fits. You could simply remove OP from here. I doubt that he has broken a rule - that would justify a ban. But if your life is better then - just make this little check in the profile and be happy from that time on. Its not transparent then to the users and there will be some who understands it - and some who might be frightened. But why care about it anymore. Then somehow i assume you can ban me too - because i seldom contribute here as well (like the majority is not doing so). And for a few occasions try to be on OPs side - at least in regards to calm down the heat between both sides.
Finally i knew that it would end this way - and all of the events so far couldn’t help to improve the things. Really sad that mature men are not capable of resolving little issues like that.
