Suggest software

Hey guys
I’d really appreciate if you can suggest a good software I could use to record videos using webcams. I’m gonna place a camera to record everything in my parking lot outside my building during the night and I have a nice camera to use but I don’t know what software to use. I’d like something that can record continuously for at least 10 hours and very important to keep the file size relatively (very)low.
Do you have anything in mind ?

How about using Skype’s video messaging functionality and this bit of software
Or windows live movie maker works (just tried it!) it’s part of a standard Win 7 install, it records in wmv VGA level (640x360) and uses around 1.2 Gb per hour[
