Freelancer HD widescreen sizing issues
-
I followed the instructions in Kirzan’s guide to the letter
found here : http://the-starport.net/freelancer/forum/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4256The intro movie and main menu screen were perfectly fit to the screen in proper resolution ( 16:9 1920x1080 ) however once I start the actual game the display in the cinematics and Menu interface is stretched outside the screen and I can’t see or select parts of the interface I should be able to. The mouse cursor still stops at the edge of the screen but the interface elements have not been brought in far enough to see or select.
See attached image, and thanks in advance for any help

I don’t know what went wrong with the image upload I’ve tried to fix a few times. It’s not nearly as bad as it looks in the post. I can see the top center menu and the first 3 icons on the top right but nothing beyond that.
Oh and just an FYI incase I get responses to use particular mods or addons. I haven’t played freelancer before and all I’m trying to do is get the original vanilla game to run in HD resolution and play through that before I move on to other options.
Thanks

I have JFLP installed, it was part of the guide and it changed the main menu and intro movie to run fine, everything seemed to be fixed just fine but then in game the image is oversized to the outiside of the screen that’s why I don’t know what the problem is.

That sounds more like you have overscan set in your driver settings. You should look into that.
-
Nope, no overscan it’s on auto select and I have no issues with any other games like this, also the display was fine in standard resolution before I tried to change it to HD.

If you edited [c]HudShift.ini[/c], It’s possible you may be double-shifting. It should start like this:
[HUDShift]
Horizontal = auto; The calculated values, if you’d like to do some fine tuning.
; Be sure to comment the above, otherwise you’ll shift twice.; 16:9 (1280x720, 1440x810, 1600x900, 1920x1080).
[[b];HUDShift]
Horizontal = 0.17If you don’t have that red semicolon, put it back and all should be good.

And that fixed it!! Thanks so much for the help.
