At this point thx to Forsaken and FF and for the tons of Informations you guys wrote regarding planets!
@5pool
The glow of the Planets are a trick. I was sending Good_Laky, from your DevTeam, a detailed Tut for how to make these kind of planets but was writing only one sentence to transparency.The Planet textures which i reworked for SoF has an alpha channel included. If you put a simple Light Source with an extend not much bigger than the planet itself in the middle of the planet you will get a planets glow. While bumping the map of the planet you can also intent the later glow in using darker and lighter parts of the bumpmap or you just make another step in creation and lay another map under the surface specialised for the dark parts - where no glowing will exist later. Just keep an eye on which FL bumpmaps you are using - ours are the ones from Radiant.
Later on you can put a variance into the glow in altering the Lightsource itself.
Hope it helps.

Finally built something new. Anyone want to take a guess as to what it may be?
-
You put an old cylon base star in a new cylon base star, it look much brighter than the originals one.
-
It’s actually based on the Guardian Basestar from BSG: Razor but I duplicated the upper section for the lower part. I may also model the original lower section from Razor since it provides a slightly different look.
-
You should see something similar in one of the episodes of Blood and Chrome on YouTube. There they also show a Basestar that is part old and part new design. Can’t remember which episode though.
-
My inspiration for the design came from both “Blood and Chrome” and “Razor” lol.

Rifle ship, pencil-box ship, hair straightener ship, photocamera ship!

I had tried to make a valid argument of Civilian owned cruisers on Disco, but I was met with much resistance. This model was a concept for a civilian cruiser using maybe 2-4 Cruiser turrets and the rest Gunboat turrets.
I didn’t understand why they were so against it, I had the plan to make it very limited and revise if needed.
