I had tried to make a valid argument of Civilian owned cruisers on Disco, but I was met with much resistance. This model was a concept for a civilian cruiser using maybe 2-4 Cruiser turrets and the rest Gunboat turrets.
I didn’t understand why they were so against it, I had the plan to make it very limited and revise if needed. -

If you mean a size, this ship/gun relation exatcly shows the power. F*** the disco SNAC, this will be amazing in action and tactics, which i suppose to see after full realisation of ship interclass balance. -
I do mean poly count. And while yes, you can have high poly models, hell, FWTOW has massive bases and capitals, we also use extensive LODing and proper poly-scaling. Remember that the issue is not really polys per model, its polys drawn on screen at any given time. Maybe you don’t plan on having many ships with that particular weapon model on screen at any given moment, but still, don’t be wasteful.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t get pissy with you for using that model mind, nightstalker had to do some serious negotiating to use them when they were just modders.

This is not an FL model, all what liiks like vanilla in my modification of Liberty fighter - is a cockpit, which i will remake too, of course. Wasn’t it obvious? Just compare:

Even if the ship is not and FL model, it is related to FL, right? Anyways it is not that important. Btw I had a similar Defender-ish fighter idea recently. Only except a torp launcher it had a big huge massive missile and booster rockets :).

I don’t think you’re hurting anyone either, especially considering how few people will ever see the ship, just letting you know they can take issue with people using their models sometimes. Hell, my mod is full of models pillaged from other games and I’ve used them myself in the past, though I never release anything so I don’t worry. Think if you can make your own model though, you’d be better off using it as a concept and making a more polygon friendly mesh, it’s too small to see all that detail.
