3D capable video card not detected

After much research and many attempts to get FL running, I’m at a total loss. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with a Radeon HD 7450 1GB video card. Before registering and posting, I read many threads on how to fix the issue. I have tried the flconfigdatabase hardware update which still ended up with me getting the error. I tried typing in my video card into the txt document to see if the game would recognize it but it still doesn’t. Are there any options left other than getting an older card? Thanks in advance for any help.

the same thing happens to me I got two gtx 660ti sc in sli as long as you play the game its ok. the game was not made for the future it was made for 10 years ago.

That stinks. It’s weird to be able to play new releases with high end graphics but fl won’t budge. Oh well.

Make sure all the 3rd party installations that run during the game’s installation went over properly. Freelancer is very tolerant of new hardware so there really is no reason for it not to run.

Thanks guys. I have now actually managed to get the game running, although it involved digging out my old inspiron laptop to do it and reinstalling video/audio drivers due to a previous PC wipe. But hey, it works well enough for me lol.

did you also put your cards correct vendor into the flconfigdatabase.txt?
