Mod glitch please help
-
I think you want to remove all the [faction] sections from your EXE\flhook_plugins\techcompat.cfg file and then restart your server (or reload dsacesrv or running the rehash command? not sure if those would work)… I haven’t tested this though. Don’t forget to make a backup of that file before messing with it.
-
if we restart the server wont we lose all of our current progress, and also I don’t understand the rest of what you are saying about those files and are you sure that those might work, and we have all ready uninstalled the server computer and then completely reinstalled the game and mod again for a fresh new start and still again nothing

I’m not a modder, but in the Data folder, find the folder Equipment and in there you can find weapon_equip.ini. Use Notepad + to open it.
In there, find the weapons in question. They should have a power_usage entry. Change that accordingly to reduce energy drain. -
As Crusader mentioned modding the power_usage line for the battlerazor is one way to overcome the problem here’s the entry from Disco 4.86 DATA\EQUIPMENT\weapon_equipment.ini file
[Gun]
nickname = battlerazor
ids_name = 500214
ids_info = 500215
DA_archetype = equipment\models\turret\bsrazor.cmp
material_library = equipment\models\razor.mat
HP_child = HPConnect
hit_pts = 100000
explosion_resistance = 0.330000
debris_type = debris_turret_large
parent_impulse = 20
child_impulse = 80
volume = 5.000000
mass = 10
hp_gun_type = hp_turret_special_10
damage_per_fire = 0
power_usage = 1000000
refire_delay = 10.00000
muzzle_velocity = 1600.000000
toughness = 20
flash_particle_name = ku_capgun_01_flash
flash_radius = 15
light_anim = l_gun01_flash
projectile_archetype = battlerazor_ammo
separation_explosion = sever_debris
auto_turret = true
turn_rate = 60
lootable = false
LODranges = 0, 5000The highlighted lines the one you want to change, although it will be changed for all ships using it throughout the game.
Another approach would be to modify the ship power unit’s for the buyable ships. However this will require some knowledge of modding as you need to identify the ships you use and the fitted power plants
Look in the
DATA\EQUIPMENT\misc_equipment.ini file
for details on the powerplant ratings for the ships.

thank you all very much ill let you know if this solves our problem or not

-
<fl folder=“”>\DATA\EQUIPMENT.
And, you have to restart server and game to make FL accept the changes.</fl> -
when I search for that folder It says there is no results what do I do
-
Search by yourself.
-
we run our game thru Hamachi does that have anything to do with our glitch
-
and is there a mod manager we can use for mod 4.86
-
Crap… >.<
Hey, anybody home?
Open freelancer folder, go to DATA, then go to EQUIPMENT, then open file weapon_equipment.ini by notepad, then press ctrl+f, input nickname = battlerazor there, then press “Find”, then look to power_usage entry, writhe there what you want, then save file. -
Oh, mod manager. I’m out.
I could suggest to uninstall it, but this is too complex for you as I see. -
ok you didn’t have to be rude about it, all I was doing was asking. I apologize for asking
-
I am asking for my dad because he cant join the site so I get the steps and send them to him so he can find and fix the file I don’t run a server he does
-
and I didn’t say we use a mod manager I was asking is there 1. also I asked does it matter that we use FL thru hamachi
-
so do you agree about modding that setting and having to restart the server is this true
-
and how do we go about making our server show up without using hamachi
-
Turn off FLServer.exe on the server
On the server, open up the weapon_equip.ini file located in the C:\program files\microsoft games\freelancer\data folder. (Windows XP installation. WinVista or Win7 might be slightly different but should be easy enough to track down as once you get past the program files differences you’ll find the rest).Ctrl+F and search for the nickname and then make the change recommended.
DLG isn’t wrong, just not very patient with newbies.
To make the server show up you must run the Global Server Workaround changes on the server machine. It’s available here: http://www.freelancerserver.de/download/flgls_workaround_v10.zip
Go to this site: http://www.flserver.de/add_server.php and register the IP address and port.
Works best I think if the server is always on. At least let it run for 48 hours. It should show up in the list by then.
There’s also a direct connect option you can use if you follow the directions in the readme contained on the install CD.
