A few newbie questions about modding

1. I really need a good tutorial or a good explanation about ids_info, ids_name and how they’re working. all those numbers resID’s and all (I’m asking this because there is no tut about FLEDids, and the wiki section was unchanged during the last 4 years). For ex. in one mod there is a name in a new dll by number 1, but in the nameresources the same number is an another string, how the game would know which to use?
2. I made a change in one ship’s hardpoint with hardcmp. Do i need to start a new game?
3. is there a mod to COMPLETELY disable the storyline? There is one but it disables only the intro.

No, no you dont have to

Yes its called the “Open SP” or open single player or no-story mod, try searching in the downloads section

That’s strange, cause the ship remained as it was. I even bought a new one of this type but no luck :?

I assume you mean how many you can carry on your ship rather than explosive damage.
Data\Constants.ini
[Constants] .. MAX_PLAYER_AMMO = 50 ; change this to the amount you want
