FL Widescreen with Multiplayer

There seems to be a lot of info out there about Multiplayer and Widescreen. I am hoping to get a definitive answer from someone that is playing online with widescreen support in 1080p.
Right now I have Vanilla 1.1
What are my next steps? I am aware of the QuickFix 1.3c, Unofficial 1.4 patch. and also the jflp 1.20.
I have found widescreen help on various sites for 1680x1050 and also 1920x1080 but the HUD isn’t fully visible.
There seems to be a lot of old legacy info, but am hoping to get the definitive answer to play online with widescreen support without risking banning.
Also, is it possible to have the HD textures and the HD Starsphere installed and play multiplayer?
Basically what is the best, supported setup?

well i am on shadow of fear mod i dont use any of that i look at this
OPTIONS > GRAPHICS > Resolution > (1680 x 1050 x 32) and Mine is Fine
