When clicking New Game Freelancer crashes

Hi Guys,

maybe someone has a suggestion.
I found the Freelancer Disc in my desk and wanted to play a bit.

I installed it to a dedicated directory
installed patch 1.1
installed patch 1.1c
switched to compatibilty mode (Win XP/SP3 also tried Vista)
switched on Admin rights

I can view the intro
I can select options
I cannot start a new game since the game just shuts down in this case. I know, it worked under Vista since I nearly beat the game on my old computer

Now… I’m desperate…

Interestingly enough, the game does not SHOW P1.1 but when I try to reinstall it, it says it’s already there.

Rename documents/my games/freelancer amd also check windows app event log

He cool… Renaming the directory actually worked… Now I just need one more info: How can I change the language to english?
