Mouse flight (left key down) sometimes randomly stops working

By “stops working” I mean:
- Left mouse key is pressed down
- The “>>>>” signs from the center towards where the cursor points to still appear
- Ship <roll rotate=“” pitch=“” point=“” to=“”>does not take place, ship still in the forward direction even though left mouse button is still down, ship direction does not change.
This is temporarily fixed by clicking once on “V” (rear view)
then mouse flight starts working again for some time
after a random timer OR whenever enemy kill (by me or allies) takes place this issue is reproduced another time.This is super super annoying, I don’t have any joy playing this game like this.
Anybody encountered anything like that? is this a known issue? is there a known fix for that?
System info:
Windows 10, Installed legacy components to allow launching the game.
Running the game in administrator mode.
Not using the compatibility mode with windows xp sp2 because it causes my game to crash when trying to manual-save (not auto save)
I launch the game with ‘-w’ to have it windowed,
Used “Borderless Gaming 9.4.9 [Administrator]” to force the windowed process to be “windowed-fullscreen”.I used no game-mods or at least non of them are turned on.
This is what I did with my original install:
1. Replaced my original exe with no cd exe.
2. Updated Freelancer to version 1.0
3. Used a fileFLListServer_Patch.rarto update the games online play.
4. Usedjflp.rarAnother update to the game.Thanks to anybody who can assist!

The game will lose track of held keys under certain situations, yes. There is no fix. I recommend getting used to the toggle mouse flight key instead of holding down the left mouse button, the problem doesn’t occur then.

I don’t remember this ever happening to me all these years ago when I played this game the last time…
Maybe on vanilla original under real xp this doesn’t happen?
In any case thanks for the tip! I will try to get used to space flight instead of mouse down just like you said.

update - no, even spacebar flight does not overcome this bug, I just had the bug reproduced and spacebar mouse flight didn’t change the direction in which my ship was heading.
Only after clicking on “V” did the bug disappear for a while, before reoccurring another time…
Any other ideas anyone?

If it occurs in mouse flight (i.e. after pressing space, as opposed to free flight, where you hold the button) that would suggest FL is losing the mouse. But then, you say you still get the direction arrows, so it’s a weird one. Does it occur fullscreen? (Since you have JFLP, you should be able to toggle with Alt-Enter.)
