Help for the computer illiterate
-
Hey all,
I’m trying to install Freelancer on my Windows 10 laptop and after I allow the unknown publisher to make changes to my device, nothing happens. Tried the no CD EXE, hit run, and that’s not working either. I’m getting 4 messages: DALib.dll, Movie.dll, Common.dll, DACOM.dll not found.
I am NOT a computer person. I don’t mod, or use cheat codes, or any of that. If someone could walk me through how to make this game work under the assumption that I’m an idiot and don’t speak computer, that would be swell.
Should I have saved the no CD EXE instead of running? At this point I don’t want to do anything and mess it up lol. I’ll just wait till someone can rescue me.

Right-click freelancer.exe - run as admin

Okay tried that … box pops up that asks if I want to allow changes from the unknown publisher, and I click yes, and … nothing.
I finally figured out how to save the no CD EXE and replaced the one from the disk with the download, and still nothing.

I tried that little trick aaaaand that didn’t work either. Ergh My laptop just hates this game, apparently. I tried it both ways, double clicking to run normally and right clicking to run as admin. Same box asking if I give permission to allow changes, then nothing.
