Deformable Models

Good day,
I had no luck searching a tool for exporting deformable models. (.dfm)
As far as I see Maxlancer can import .dfm files, but there is no exporter yet.Some mods changed some parts of the existing freelancer models.
I remembered Freeworlds:Tides of War is one of that example. It doesn’t look like simple skins.So how did they change these model parts or was this just an internal tool which was never released?

question is if this really is a dfm or just a head prop like a mask/helmet

Yeah that’s probably just a prop (.3db) attached over the head. I haven’t seen any effort to do anything with .dfm in all those years and I haven’t seen any internal development tools being ever released.
Most of the stuff needed to export .dfm are already implemented, it’s just not finished. I’m thinking of having it all somehow tie to 3ds max character animation toolkit, but it is tricky.
