FL TURBO GRAPHICS
-
FL’s graphics are however very nice, they can’t be claimed as the best nowadays. I made these screenshots to show how will FL look with drastic graphics and DX9 features. Sit back and be amazed!
These screenshots aren’t fake, they are original in-game ones, without any Photoshop editing!
_- Bloom-effect dll hook
- High resolution textures
- Advanced INI tweaks
- ALE editing_

Fire Kiss, is this something you made?
If it is soo, could you provide more info to mod developers on how to implement this in their mods?
Can it be ran client side only?Would be ace if you would share this info, or atleast give away some hints how to accomplish this.
Or provide some resources on how to do this.Thanks in advance.
Worf

Do you mean “This is ran on native DX9” or “This is what FL would look like if it ran on DX9”?
Because all I see is some texture changes, new ALEs and a good use of ambient lights. It looks great, but I’m missing the DX9 part. Where are the shaders? Bump maps? Normal maps? Parallax mapping? Anti-alias? Anisotropic filtering?
-
Yeah I was under the impression that the type of DX was hardcoded and would require a lot of .exe tampering.
I maybe wrong however.And so what if they are confusing why limit yourself, well to yourself, having more modders working on a project like that is more likely to give better and quicker results.
-
these from Plasma fire yesh?
Well, when i downloaded your first version ( ill be honest here, i was expecting heavy ALE editing) but i was amazed at how well done your textures were done (was the idea to completely replace the entire FL Texture base with your own? if so, this is the greatest Texture convert i have ever seen… lol hats off on a good job
would have been nice to see the ALE editing tho
as to the DX9 stuff, im pretty sure thats only possible if you made your own EXE, with your own dll’s etc and then did a port / conversion?
(tho i do like the bloom effect, i to have been fiddling with it ^^ makes everything looks UBER :D)
-
When refering to DX9 he is talking about the dll converter (enbs series, I linked it on the old TLR forums), its not his work.
I dont wanna be a nay sayer, but I just dont like it when one sells others work as their own.btw. would be nice if you’d post your tutorials over here as well, you’ve got some very nice ideas!
-
Anti-alias? Anisotropic filtering?
You can already run any version of FL with AA and AF enabled - just force it to be enabled through your GFX configuration software, which varies from ATI to nVidia (I use ATI Tray Tools).
For example, here’s a screenshot taken with the High-LOD and High End Special Effects options turned on in 88 Flak as well as AA and AF forced on with ATI Tray Tools.
-
Heh, I know you can force them. However, here it doesn’t seem to stick. But that doesn’t matter; I was more asking about what exactly are the DX9 features that were touted.
-
Most of these can be client-side only as well, but they are pretty unstable, and are far from ready. I will soon post tutorials related to this, but I need to find more simple ways, because it’s just horribly confusing to make these.
Talk to Lancer Solarus, I’m sure he could program something up to make that easier once your done, I mean hes made editors for just about every other bloody format lol.
-
Cheese,
You mentioned you’ve been fiddling with the bloom effect, any clues as to how to do that ? I missed the thread on the last TLR incarnation about this so i’m really curious as to how. Or if anyone else knows for that matter
EDIT
@wodk4
After talking to cheese, seems you’re the man with the answers as to the bloom effect. Care to enlighten us lesser mortals please?

http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/download_en.htm
download “GTA ViceCity/GTA3 v0.074f - this version contain convertor inside archive, see readme file.”
-
Thanks wodk4, it does make a difference doesn’t it? First few things i noticed were the suns, engines and weapons having a bit more glow to them, the kusari engines were really noticable. Have to play with the settings a bit more but makes it look better for sure. Thx again.

My problem is another one, when I drop it into the EXE directory the thing I immediately notice it, that our startup splashscreen is displayed in a much better quality.
However, activating it in game (shift+F12) makes every visible object red. Is it because of my graphics card (using an Nvidia FX5700 on this rig) or simply because I’m too dumb to set it up?

Go to the enbseries.ini file in the EXE folder (thats where it should be)
Find this section
[EFFECT]
EnableBloom=1
EnableOcclusion=0
EnableReflection=0
EnableMotionBlur=0
EnableWater=0
EnableShadow=0
DepthBias=0Only enable bloom, standard all options are enabled, and after some playing with those settings i came to the conclusion that bloom is the only thing what gives proper results.
