Need help with server login

the title stats the main problem, seems I can connect to the server but, no matter what name I pic, it claims the name is in use already
I have tried deleting the save folder with no change in results
for those of you that are interested, it’s a server for Itano Circus
I’m trying to get it working and am also going to be helping Why 485 to get it to run smoother in the process

I believe the problem appears often when you modify the NewCharacter.ini file found under DATA/Characters. I know that reverting all changes fixed the problem in many places.

i didnt have problems running an itano circus server, exept playing on it with the host comp, which has some sort of terrible hang up every second (is that double long vision loading and alot of NPCs? cuz the server log didnt say anything)

did you try to edit trent in any way like clothes . another problem if you didnt add the multi player file into the exec folder. these were some problems i have had hosting servers and i could log in to my server.

yeah, I had changed part of the newcharacters .ini file but, after changing eveything back the way it was I still get the problem

server is saved in cfg files for names, C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\MultiPlayer all the vfg files for name and such should be there, you could delete them and reload the server(though i would recommend deleting the FL 1.0 regkey and having that reset too.

already did deleted the save files

tried a fresh install and even started a server on vanilla as a test
the vanilla FL worked fine but, Itano Circus refuses to let me register characters still

it’s fixed, seems the newcharacter.ini file called vanilla FL data not stuff from the mod like it should
just need to give him the updated mod
