Why my effects keep crash?

It’s been a long time since I’ve had the pleasure of talking to you.
Some members have kept the same nickname and others have different names so I don’t know who’s who anymore.

I don’t remember much information about the ALE files in discussions on the forums other than they are video files?

For changing weapon visual effects in the ini files, they are in the FX folder but you probably already know that so I’m wondering what the ALE files have to do with that.

First, you’re taking risks with a name like that. | isn’t a standard character and FL might not like it all that much.

Second, your best bet is to revert the changes you’ve done one-by-one until it works again. ALEs do have a tendency to crash if you don’t do them perfectly.

ALEs are very picky over extremely minor things. If you plan on doing any ALE editing do everything very slowly and very carefully. Also if you are creating a brand new effect and ale, be sure that you have modified the inis appropriately. There are two ini entries that must correspond to every effect. There are so many possible sources of crash. A misnamed node, a wrong node count, a missing entry, a wrong Layer type, wrong emitter/appearance order, etc. It’s really quite unstable, but hey, that’s FL for you
