Freelancer Mission Glitch
-
Hi there everyone, new here. I was just playing through the single player of Freelancer and I appear to be stuck after completing mission three, I have above and beyond the credit limit to advance to the next level and I’ve completed many credit side missions since completing the third level. Is this a glitch? If so, how do I fix it?
Thanks

Yes I have, she isn’t there. I thought it might be instead of credits you need to do a certain number of missions but I’ve done 12 or more, it seems far too many just for level four. I have over 100k credits now, and it only requires 33k or so to advance. So I don’t understand.

The only suggestion I can offer is: did you install the official patch during play? The internal mission numbers changed with the different version, preventing you from progressing. If you didn’t, sorry, I don’t know. If you did, the fix would be to grab FlCodec, decode the save game (My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer and look for the newest one), open the resulting .ini file, find MissionNum and increase that number by one. If delta_worth is -1, change it to 1. Then just replace the .fl with the new .ini and load it (you can do all that with FL still running). I hope that will work.

- Ok I’m not totally sure how do all of that. How do you decode the save game?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832781Im not sure i havent played storyline for a while, but i guess the next mission comming from manhattan.
My question is, do you have waypoints on your navmap, or that dissappeared also?
If you got “too much money” thats not problem, but sometimes you have to make missions doesnt matter if you have enough money or not. (for example kusari space/ blood dragons when you reach it)
Accept mission is part of the storyline, so if you have enough money but you havent made missions for a while, you must do some. For example you made many missions at the begining of the storyline, but after you missed them at the next few levels, then you have to make 1÷2 at least.
As i said its not always needed, but some places/after some missions you have to.
If you are through this, and nothing happens, try to reinstall freelancer and all of the savegames, restart your comp, and install it again.EDIT: one more:

Did you tried with FlCodec?
Could you may also upload your savegame so other might could take a look into it? -

I’ve read about the sound files, apparently that had to do with some ships not blowing up or something in mission three but I finished the mission itself. It probably has to do with the fact I installed the patch after starting a new campaign.

I have a bad habit of just assuming people can work with the command line… Extract flcodec.exe from flcodec.zip to the aforementioned SinglePlayer directory. Bring up the Run dialog and type cmd. That should place you in your user directory, so type cd My and press Tab - you should now see cd “My Documents”; if not, keep pressing Tab until you do. Now type \My and keep pressing Tab until My Games shows up. Keep going until you get to SinglePlayer, then press Enter. Now type flcodec saveXXXX.fl, where XXXX is for the newest save game. Type saveXXXX.ini and that should open it with notepad. Edit it as described earlier, save it and then type move/y saveXXXX.ini saveXXXX.fl and you’re done. HTH.
If you still want to send it, zip and attach.

Uh, adoxa, you have two slightly different posts here. Mind deleting the wrong one (or if you can’t, pointing me to the one to trash)?
