The hook would intercept the destination coords when entering a system and instead place you at the coords you’d specified.
As like in your jump gate method.
The only time a player would be jumped elsewhere is by forcing entrance to the hyperspace area where they would be placed based on position determined by the system they came from, i.e;, sat near the new york exit hole for example.
A jump to Colorado they’d travel through hyperspace for a little bit, and then use colorado exit to the coords they’d entered in prior to reaching hyperspace.
Besides, doesn’t it lead to corrupted data because its a beam to a base/planet/station?
Would a beam to open space not be different as it doesn’t trigger any saving of data to the server files, only when you land?
