Thx for the reply, but now I need definity mod suggestions

You could try Crossfire 1.7 or wait for the upcoming release of Shattered Worlds: War-Tron 1.3 or Crossfire 1.8

hey, could anyone suggest me a good singleplayer mod? It should contain the following criteria:
-new ships, systems, weapons and equipment
-should be more difficult, but please not exaggerated.
I tried Big Daddy’s SP mod and another single player exclusive mod with additional campaign missions (don’t know name) and it was just ridiculous. Shooting a Rogue for 5 minutes and getting killed in 3 seconds is -NOT- fun.-FULLY compatible with the campaign. It’s awesome
-No technical nuisanced, I tried to get the Rebalance 3.55 mod to run with campaign, but the cutscenes are always skipped, even though I adjusted anything properly.
-Advanced graphics or compability to mods like “HD textures” would be nice, but is not necessary.
Thanks in advance
FBUs mods are for the more experienced pilots and Big Daddy’s was a piece of cake as compared to some of his newer ones. They keep you on your toes for PvP in MP if you want to get better. Be careful, there are many mods out the that use his style in them as part of an upgrade.
Try rasauul’s Trent the Monkey King 1.4 mod. If, you think you can handle it? It has much of what you’re looking for.
Just a suggestion.

I think you cannot practice for MP PvP with fighting NPCs in SP. PvP and PvE are just way different in FL. I’m not a Newb, I played much FL Vanilla and Nomad Revenge II Mod online some years ago. The only way to make NPCs harder at the moment is to give them ridiculous shielding and weapons, which does not prepare for MP in anyway. And that’s what is no fun to me. Fighting NPCs with insane shields and almost infinite Bots/Bats while 2 hits of them kill you in an instant is just tiring.

That’s the Mod I tried and I didn’t like it. The ships were too fast and it had the issues I mentioned earlier.

Big Daddy’s was created by FlyByU and was a good mod. That was in his earlier years of mod making/enhancing and wanted a better challenge other than 1.0 without recreating the whole mod.
Try FlyByU’s new Freelance Advanced v0.77 mod. He’s redone the SP Campaign and has tweaked it some but, not all of the AI and as for unlimited Bats and Bots on NPCs, that never was. Many of them only carry 3 of each so, I have no idea were you got that from? I’ve beta tested all his mods and know better. The only thing the AI have as in most mods is, Infinite Power. And no, you shouldn’t be avle to jump into SP or MP and be able to just kill everything in site right off the bat. No challenge that way and no fun.
Just be reminded that, his mods are not for those that want to make top dog in an hour or two.
My neighbors daughter, of which my neighbors live 1/2 to a mile apart, runs down here all the time to play it and she’s only 14 now, soon to be 15 but, has been playing FBU’s mods since his v0.75 (age 13) and loves them. First time ever playing Freelancer and/or any mods. She tried others when I set them up but, likes his better.
I don’t know what type of gaming style you like most but, if you don’t like challenges, stick to 1.0. SP and stay off servers. JMO
I’ve played many of the so many different types of NR mods and run those server side too. I didn’t like them and they were not much of a challenge to me. Some mods take skill, not pawnage.

TNG 2.7.6 should work well as long as you don’t buy anything bigger than a fighter until you’re done with the storyline. It’s a little older now but a good alternative if you like missiles

If you know what you want, send me a pm and i’ll make ya one.
Ive already been working on a few projects and have lots of “spare” missions etc that were never used in the projects.
i can also help with an enhanced version of the normal single player game.

If you know what you want…Generally, I want to go through original game storyline.
But the AI in original game is very stupid and that’s what is no fun to me.
DIFFICULTY_SCALE change in perfoptions.ini is not a solution - all NPC’s in any case are such a stupid slowpokes.
I tried single player with Crossfire 1.82, and i found the NPC are made as much more smart enemies, big thnx all mod’s team .
However this awesome mod is not balanced for the original game campaign (trade, pod selling in prison, superior ships in Texas and Pittsburgh, millions money and so on. Of course all this “not balanced” only IMHO, but i don’t want to dispute about, please. So, I want to go through storyline with increased NPC enemies’ dogfighting AI without any other changes.
I liked NPC’s dogfighting AI in Crossfire 1.82, but i don’t know how to extract ONLY the NPC AI from the mod and install it in a original game. -
A problem arrises when you do this in missions where you will fail if another NPC dies, such as Juni, King, Sinclair etc. They don’t die easily I know, but the more NPC’s you have to kill the longer it takes, the more damage they will take and the more likely they will die. I’d start by giving the NPC’s shields that recharge, if that’s not hard enough then give them a small number of bots and bats. Try dropping in the AI file from 88FLAK to change NPC behaviour (warning, might drive you nuts!).
Less things you change the easier it will be to find the right ballance.

I havent tried the crossfire mod, so i dont know what they are like.
I’m guessing they may have altered the state_graph.dll and maybe tweeked some weapons/thrusters, possibly made edits to the mission pilots too.I’ll make some edits to the vanilla single player missions this weekend (add some more npc into the missions, may try to make them stay within a closer range of you and some other tweeks, maybe even a bonus/side mission) If your interested.
Then, you could try it and tell me what needs to change and/ or edit it your self.
In the meantime i recommend you try this:
http://the-starport.net/freelancer/forum/viewtopic.php?start=0&topic_id=4098&viewmode=flatℴ=ASC&status=&mode=0@ Timmy, you can tell the mission script to make said pilots indestructable… for a bit, or untill (however many) npc enemies are dead, even regen their hull/ammo if you want.
But your right, finding the right balance is unwanted hassle. -
Many thanks for all your replies, help and link.
I would like to have more time for this excellent game than I have now, but all your tips will be tried by me as soon as possible.
khayman, your edits for the SP will be very interesting for me. (if this creation is not so difficult for you).
