This also means that if you have anything on the Forge that you’d like to keep, back it up NOW!

Thx for letting us know man. Hope all goes well and according to plan.

I have to echo the thanks to Worfeh for hosting it for so long. He put up with alot, and spent a MASSIVE amount of his time combating attacks in the past. Thanks bud, we all hugely appreciate the time and effort you put in.
Glad to hear there is a new host, so thanks w0dk4.

The DNS update went extremely fast.
Thats why it went that fast.I would like to thank all for the support in the past 1.5 years i hosted Startport.
Due to a lot of real life reasons and also a change of interest i decided a few months ago i should stop with hosting Startport.I had a lot of fun working on a project like this, doing the DB stuff and keeping the server clear from nasty things.
But time and interest went away and i was slacking, it could be days to notice me if there would be something wrong, and that isn’t right as server monkey.Heads up to W0dk4 who took the brave decission to host Starport, and i believe he is the right person for the job.
Also heads up to the other admins, who keep this site clean of unwanted messages and users.
I still think it is a great achievment that we did to bring Starport to this level and that it can be part of a still going on Freelancer community.Heads up to the numurous server admins and mod developers who keep this game going for that redicules amout of time allready, and still it gets developed more bows.
And thanks to all the “regular” readers, people who contribute to the community in what ever form they choosed to forfill.
Im not entirely gone, will check this site from time to time and will post some spam where needed.
Regards,
Worfeh/Elbert

Thanks from me to past and present and future hosters, this site is now critical to our community.
I did try to usurp that position on different servers including our own www.rrjds.com/forum - but it didn’t work…
So I’m plotting my next move…
Maybe…
Nah…
Or perhaps…
??
Nah, better not tell anyone yet, must keep it secret…

I play SP mods and like to get missions at the bars.
Is there a way to start a Second Life engine in the cut seen in
a multi player game to have avatars give out missions for rank in
a faction this could be fun to log on and play with you all and get
a corsair mission to take a tour of five star systems and
eradicate all enemy’s of the Corsairs pay 700mil. -
So, we just had our first DOS attack…
It was actually a very good stress test for the server hardware and configuration.
The server was able to handle 50+ pageviews per second with acceptable delay (a few seconds).
It took quite a while to figure out how to get the most out of the server, but eventually I think thats an impressive number, handling 3000+ hits per minute.Side note:
[18:54] Knife[x]: oh w0dk4 ur awake?
(start of DOS attack)has disconnected: Quit: Leaving
(end of DOS attack) -
What an ass…
But ya, go this new server!
