Been following this myself for some time. What scares me about this is the fact Gamigo are involved. I’ve never been a fan of that company, their servers are slow, crash a lot, backup is average at best.
They are also huge fans of the micropayment way of playing. This means technically a game is free to play, but if you want that big gun or thruster or whatever, and don’t want to grind for the next few days to get it, then you can whip your credit card out and pay for it. They also do little limited time powerups where you get double for something for seven days if you pay a small amount and various things like that.
I wish another publisher had gotten hold of this game but we’ll just have to see how it goes and see how good the beta testing will be. Based on other games Gamigo have released, i can see this being rushed out with regular patches being given out and getting players in large numbers to “beta” the game once it’s released

*watches the trailer nad over its done stairs at the screen. Then sahkes out and first thing said is " WOW! dang I have to get it! " then relizes something " It looks like a beefed up version of eve-online."
I hope it comes out soon, and that Gibbon is worry about the poor gamigo services have been fixed. Or this wonderful game is going to faceplant into nothingness.

Is Black Prophecy anything like Eve Online?
Black Prophecy is a Massively Multiplayer Online Space Shooter with role-play elements focussing on fast and exciting real-time combat space battles. Our approach is to provide quick and easy game fun without the necessity to develop your character over months. So besides the fact that both games play in space, they do not have much more in common.
Will it be possible to exit your ship and walk around on space stations or planets?Hm, really looking forward to this one. Can’ remember any other good space sims which will be released in the future I am aware of, with the exception of jumpgate evolution - Or which got released in the last years…(OK, maybe X series…haven’t tried them out yet)
UNfortunally, I fear that they won’t release a linux client -
