Invisible Factions

its in the common.dll theres a program you get called res hack its free and i forgot what to do i made them show up in the order mods the nomads and the order and to make the reps go up and down you have change that i empathy.ini like that. there is a mod also i think its here that explains how to do it its called the order on the rep list look for that mod and in the read me it tells how to put story factions in the mod. now if you want to make missions you have to make another faction but if you want them just fly around and be on the replist thnen its easy. there is also rouge navys in the game. i made them come out too. they would battle with the order and the real navy and police. but the mod was too unstable and its gone but the order still exists on moddb

This plugin allows you to list as many factions as you want to be hidden from the reputation list. Thanks Adoxa!

I should point out that it also lets you remove the existing hidden factions, to make them visible.

switch to the hex editor rather than the character editor and place there 0x00-bytes where the characters shall be.

No need for hex editing.
Just download adoxas Plugin and configure the ini.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. This plugin completely overrides what’s in common.dll, so if you just download / install the plugin (which consists of placing the plugin in EXE and adding it to the dacom.ini list, as well as placing the storyfactions.ini in Data) and leave storyfactions.ini blank, it’ll show everything.

Thanks again Adoxa for designing this, this has come in enormous handy for 88 Flak, which has dozens of mini-factions previously (and needlessly) shown to the player. The reputation screen is MUCH cleaner now.

Use a Hex editor and go change just the bits you want, it’s so easy!

Get Icy’s Hexplorer, it’s really a nice and easy tool to use.

No, hex-editing really isn’t that bad, but in this scenario you might as well use the plugin, since it allows as many (or as few) story factions as you’d like. =P

Does the storyfaction plugin shows the custom factions on reputation list if they are only defined on Objects?
Visiting them in SP mode, they not for me.

Factions are only defined in faction_prop.ini and initialworld.ini, as in custom save files, too.
