Freelancer Crashes when Clicking "New Game"
-
I decided to install Freelancer with a few of my friends again as we wanted to play it again, i’ve had the game for quite a long time and always had great memories of it, so i installed it, patched it and was ready to go.
Loaded up Freelancer, sorted out controls and stuff, clicked new game, and it crashes, i’m not sure why, and i’ve tried updating my drivers earlier, which doesn’t work, i’ve tried turning off all of the extra features in the Nvidia control panel as im using an 8400 GT Card, but i’ve had no luck in sorting this out and have completely run out of ideas, so any help or suggestions would be awesome.

My Documents\My Games\Freelancer
- Turn off 3D Sound in F1 Options \ Audio screen.
Do either of those fix it?

I appreciate the suggestions, but i don’t have any save games to delete seeing as i havn’t managed to get into it yet, and just tried turning off the 3D sound and it still done it, but thanks.
EDIT: Scrap that, removing everything from in the “My Games” folder and moving it to somewhere else fixed it o.O, thankyou so much! lmao!

You are welcome, Deputy Chief!

Hey, I have the same thing happening to me and I’ve tried both solutions, removing the My Games data and disabling the 3D sound. Is there anything else that could be causing this or any other options to try to correct it? I’m running Discovery v4.85 on a side note.
