Changing name in SP
-
hi all, i have a question. in the game ( SP ) when i dock or lunch the NPC’s say ‘‘freelancer alpha 1-1….’’ so my question is if i can change the name. for example if i can do something that the NPC’s will say: ‘‘navy /GMG / BMM / navel forces…alpha / beta / gema / delta…1 / 2 / 3 /4…’’’
is it possible to change it so that they wont call me freelancer? and so that when i shoot a friendly target the NPC’s wont say ''now get off freelancer! ‘’ they would say ‘’ liberty police / navy / millitary…stop that ‘’
so is it possible? just wondering because im kinda tired of bieng called a freelancer lol -
do always read any readme. for players theire irrelevant (which causes many of them to behave noobish due to ignorance of game tech) but once you want really to be able to do something, try to find given information rather than figure out things yourself. some decades ago it might have been the other way round, today there is support enough.
you have to add the file name to the libraries section of dacom.ini (or dacomsrv.ini??). if i remember right, in the package is an ini file, too, which you will have to edit in the way you want to be called. -
dude… simple like that:
In the readme.txt it sais:
Copy CALLSIGN.DLL to DLLS\BIN and add it to the end of the [Initial ?P DLLs] sections in EXE\freelancer.ini. Then just append how you want to be called:
DLL = callsign.dll, faction [formation [number][-][number]]
after this there is a table in the readme with all the available stuff and additional notes.
as my english teacher always sais:
read everything before doing anything. -
there it stands:
[freelancer folder\exe\freelancer.ini (not dacom)
section name
[Initial SP DLLs] (cuz it might cause problems in mp on official servers)
under the other dlls you write down a line with the callsign dll and afterwards the numbers/names you want to be called by. the line in the readme is a pattern to show you the format.
