Hi.
I’m wanting to play sp through again but I want to do it a certian way.I did read the rules but I’m not sure how much sanction can happen about sp.
I downloaded flhack and flmm awhile back and kept the files.
I also have ironcross but it wont work due to a … well its working again… anywaynow that ironcross is working atm.
flhack has a 1 option to use best pathing in setting waypoints. unfortunately the game crashes when approaching various objects at 10k range. Is there a way to work around this and obtain the best path option?
Also after much searching I found instructions on how to increase thruster speed but I cannot seem to make sense of the .ini flies I attempted to find something* that decodes them but no joy (both Tyson Schoepflin’s BiniQDU v1.1 and java 2 sdk).
my desires are simply to have a fast travel option, a totally explored nav map, freelancer running while minimised or alt-tabbed and best pathing via navpoints (jump holes included).
If its not a ‘far out man want my left arm as well’ request, mind pointing me in the right direction.

For the truster/cruise engine speed up stuff: IIRC there is a speed mod delivered with FLMM.

First, ensure you have the latest version (1.51). Second, if the error still occurs, let me know how to replicate it.

While you’re getting the new version of FL Hack, get TINI or JFLP. As Bas says, FLMM comes with a speed mod.

FL Hack does all that (fast travel is via Hypercruise or Trade Lane adjustment; you’ll need to mod for thruster increases). Console also lets you change cruise speed on the fly.

I have the same or a similar problem with FL Hack crashing Freelancer. Here are the steps that crashed it for me.
Installed FL Hack
Setup FL Hack (turned on auto waypoints)
Loaded Freelancer and my save game (was on Planet Manhattan)
I had waypoints already loaded prior to trying to leave the planet
When I left the planet, Freelancer instantly crashed as it tried to automatically go to the first waypoint.Does Freelancer have to be patched to a certain version?
I am using XP SP3.

You might need to apply the Quickfix, but I am not sure about it, so you might want to wait until Adoxa himself replies to your question.

FL Hack should work with any version and most mods.
A quick test didn’t replicate your problem (accept a job, save, launch, load, launch, all okay). Are you using a mod? Does it work with Follow waypoints disabled? Could you send me the options you use (create a shortcut and copy the target line) and the save game (email in profile)? And just to be sure, you are using 1.51?
Edit: Just reading your other post and I see you’re using 1.0. Whilst in theory I support 1.0, I’ve only ever tested with 1.1. Perhaps that’s the problem. Since I’ll probably end up dropping 1.0 support, I suggest you use the official patch. There is a problem with upgrading during the story (different internal mission numbers prevent leveling up), but since you’re on Mission 2, I think you’re safe.

I know this is an old post but I’ve been trying to find a mod to ignore level requirements for YEARS, and it seemed like I’d finally found an answer with FL Hack. Unfortunately, Freelancer crashes every time I try to activate the cruise engines (F2, Shift-W, GoTo icon). I have tried patching to 1.1, QuickFix patch, even the 1.4 unofficial patch, but nothing works. FL Hack v1.54 seems to operate fine otherwise; I selected “Everything on Nav Map” and it works perfectly, but I can’t do anything in the game without the cruise engines. Please help!

I think this might be related to the original Freelancer.exe. Pretty ironic that part of the purpose of Hack was to allow patching the protected exe. Try visiting gamecopyworld for an unprotected exe (or you may even have one as part of a mod). If that doesn’t fix it, send me the crash address (the Module and Offset part in the dialog).
