It has bugged.

I happened to look around a bit at another Fl forum yesterday and there was a thread “do not install latest version of Kaspersky” or something alike. I didn’t read it. But maybe Kaspersky might indeed be uncompatible with FL.
So, like Sid sais (in the other thread - maybe a moderator can fuse them or delete one? ) : get rid of Kaspersky and get another free antivirus program.
AVG works fine with FL (but happens to be rather slow).
Avira works fine with FL too (but always gives a false positive for the autorun file on my HD - and it apparently has no learning abilities).
Avast is a nice free antivirus application, but I haven’t had that installed on a machine on which I played FL, so I don’'t know if it causes problems.

@ Syd : It is Kaspersky pure 2010
@ moonhead : Never! I want another solutions. -
I wanted to say removing the best antivirus for a game is idiot, espcially when we have buy it 70 €. My parents will not buy another antivirus for one only game and free antivirus aren’t so great, for me. So another solution will be great.

It’s the best yes but FL doesn’t work with it, I adapt myself and falses positive don’t make me cry, but I want a solution not remarks, it’s me and don’t judge my illogisme, I’m full of opposition with myself. And it’s the best because it can protect my computer properly, more than AVG, more than avast.

you see, FL is an old program. it conflicts with the newest software of other purposes. either you play fl on a separate machine or you let it be.
or ofc you make your regular machine work with fl. there is no fourth way. unless you can reprogram kaspersky. -
@ moonhead : Never! I want another solutions.

Btw I hate paid-for antivirus software. It’s not that I think the folks who design it should do it for glory, or out of altruism. It’s just that I hate being harrassed with yearly subscriptions! A paid-for AV should at least offer life-long (or: your computer’s life-long) free definitions update. They should try to earn their money with a deluxe version containing extra stuff.
On second thoughts, forget my nuances. I just hate paying for stuff, no matter what

I’m an old die-hard Kaspersky fan and I have to say that in the last 10 years I had installed and used almost all internet security suites out there and tested them in the most harsh environment known to man … my pc. So far I’m sticking with Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 even though it’s not that cheap, but it does it’s job and that’s what I want.
Everyone is entitles to his own choices and opinions so if the guy wants to keep his AV, good !Now let’s all be friends again :pint: :pint:
With that being said, you basically have a couple of choices:
- go into the settings, at “threats and exclusions” and add Freelancer as exclusion
- go to settings -> firewall, and make Freelancer “trusted”.
That always fixes my problems for any files, even if they contain viruses so it should work for you too.
P.S. Kaspersky PURE has some rather different settings controls settings so you might take a few minutes to find those particular settings I mentioned.

Avira’s often been classed higher than even paid versions of A/Vs like Kaspersky. I’m sorry but if you pay for your antivirus, you’re getting shafted.
Right now you have two options: fumble with Kaspersky and try to find where the hell is its file exclusion list so you can whitelist Freelancer.exe OR get a new antivirus. Whatever antivirius you want, free or not.
-
And the strange things Freelancer worked well with Kaspersky and… ond day it has said a menace has been detected do you want to stuck the app. After I click Yes, stuck partialy application, and here is my false. Could it be reversed?

It works!!! I’ve found the solution, it was under my nose, I’m an idiot!..

And it's the best because it can protect my computer properly, more than AVG, more than avast. ```Why it is the best antivirus in your opinion? Note that the number of virus fonds IS NOT a pure factor to rate antivirus applications, I could write a programm which detects about 30 % of your files of your HDD, would this make it the best antivirus aviable? I agree with FriendlyFire here. Plus, no antivirus is more worth than common sense. If you have that, you don't even need to have SUCH a good antivirus, IMHO.

About antivirus i prefer Microsoft Security Essentials - truly compatible with FL :))

antivirus softwares are being updated only after a new virus is made. so they only protect against attacks known to the antivirus branch. if you are really being under attack your only chance is to know who you trust and block contact to any machine that even could be dangerous. being paranoic is the very safest and only safe way - no matter what protection system you install.
