Use 7-Zip to extract the files (although depending on which version of FLMM you have, you may have to create the directory structure manually).

With files, adoxa is most likely referring to the .flmod files which can be opened with winrar or 7-zip.

Actually, I was referring to the FLMMInstaller.exe files. If it’s the mods themselves he can’t install, he should probably right-click FLModManager.exe and “Run as administrator”.

You need admin rights even with the “portable” version of FMM to make some registry in HLKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

There is an alternative…

Copy your Install of Freelancer and decompress the .flmod file using 7zip or your favourite compression program… And then copy over the files youve decompressed…

Sure this wont work always as some mods have custom scripts to have certain options changed… But for those that dont have that works fine and you dont need Admin either

@Jack: I told you, use 7-Zip to extract the installer directly. Here’s how it would look in my command line:

```To install mods (assuming you can't do that either), copy Freelancer and direct FLMM to your copy (Options|Choose a different Freelancer directory). I think this will work if it can't write to HKLM, you'd just have to make the change each time (I'll have to switch to HKCU for v2).
