Why does everyone run to this facebook? And nowadays everywhere the i like it and thumbs up and whatnot for crap. As that would improve anything. People get influenced by it - up to a level they dont make themselves their own oppinion anymore. As much as i like this site i will not press any facebook crap. Sorry.

Sorry.Facebook is a great social site that links many different communities and people. We’re also able to link to the Freelancer communities that are on there and when they update it updates on TSP. It’s another method to converse.
However, we didn’t force you to click the like button. If you don’t want to be part of it, that’s OK, too. I don’t see the reason to be so negative about what we’re trying to do, though…

No shouldnt be against you at all. I just am kinda annoyed that anyone sooner or later runs to facebook. Besides social community - they care #$%% about each ones privacy. Mainly that the reason i dont like facebook at all. I meet my friends by visiting them and not looking 24 hours a day to such a crappy site.
So sorry - wasnt directed to you. For sure you can do as much as you want. And i am sure you will get this 25 what is it called - likes - soon.

Well, it’s not for everyone, as you pointed out. However, this thread isn’t about the ethics of Facebook

Oh don’t read about the media reports into the latest facial recognition coming to Facebook then
It’s being overstated, but Facebook do seem to regularly push very hard at what is acceptable privacy.
Luckily, like buttons are pretty much on the low end of the spectrum. My favourite was hearing that Facebook has some form of alogrithm that measures “friendship” between people based upon the amount they interact.
Now they can tell you just how strong your friendship is, and whether it goes both ways! … based on the idea that near all your interaction occurs via Facebook and not face to face

Indeed
Privacy is something only a few are aware nowadays - sadly enough. Facebook is just a perfect idol on how this should not work.
It wouldnt wonder me if klicking on the likes button would fill their servers as well. And if you are registered there everyone can see what you like.
Ok sorry - its not the topic. ;D

If you want to market something, anything, you use the tools that are at your disposal. We terribly need any way to remind people that Freelancer not only still exists but is alive and kicking, so if facebook does it, well there it is.
