Read Full Article HereSince we have acquired the old Lancers Reactor domain, we thought it would be appropriate to move the archives over to
http://www.lancersreactor.com/archive
While doing so, I’ve made multiple improvements to the archives:-
You now get greeted with a very outstanding notice that you are actually browsing archived content.
-
Also, HTML tags within the old posts are now fully recognized, making formatted posts a lot easier to read. In some places, this generates new formatting errors, but all in all I think it gets a lot more usable.
-
Further, there was a bug in the phpBB version we used where you couldnt search for the author of a post. This is now fixed and searching for a specific username will now actually result in all posts made by that user.
Any links to the old archive URL should automatically direct to the new URL. Please let me now if that’s not the case for you.
Great work
Clean logo btw
However, so far I’ve not found any links that work They all point back to the thread they originate in, instead of the threads they were supposed to point to

Oh, I was talking about the the-starport.net/archive links.
The links within posts that would lead to another thread within the old LR forum are extremely hard to reverse engineer. It’s simply not worth to do so.
However, the search function should be pretty usable now (considering you can now get all posts of a specific user), so finding things should be easier.Btw.: The new logo was made by FF, obviously inspired by the old TLR logo

Awesome stuff, W0d!

Two issues.
It seems apostrophes have been doubled up, preventing some links from working. (Well, Proxomitron takes care of that…)
Text using angle brackets is missing. Bit more awkward to fix, I guess. You can see this here - search for “standard”. View the source and you’ll see it’s telling you to leave out “<rdl>” and what-not.
Oh, another issue is the smilies don’t show, but that’s hardly critical. Still, I could translate the more common ones to TSP names.</rdl>

Oh wow, good job. If you’re really keen, a couple of smilies are still missing (icon_smile_blush, icon_smile_blackeye, from page 3 of the previous link). And just to be really annoying, there’s also the missing ‘]’.I’ll see about the smilies however the missing ] has been a bug on TLR since forever, so it was never there in the first place

Howdy!
I wanted to post in the original thread about you guys obtaining the domain, but that was closed due to some bad eggs ruining the celebrations for everyone else.
So I will post my congratulations here. TSP will do with that domain what is right for the entire FL community as a whole.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Roo.

Thanks, Roo! Nice to see you around.
-
Thanks Sushi,
So what’s everyone got happening in terms of Mods these days? I plan on reinstalling FL for a while.
-
Basically, there’s not much happening online with big numbers except discovery, then there’s a few other mods like underverse and shattered worlds ticking along.
There’s more modders than players now I reckon, so there’s loads of modding going on.
Thanks to Adoxa and some other genius types modding is a little mental now because everything is getting hacked to hell, all the doors that used to be closed are getting blown open now.
You can ask a rediculous question like, ‘I want Trent to fart when I press shift + k’ and then within 24 hrs Adoxa will post a piece of code that makes Trent fart, Juni piss herself and Sirius explode into a cloud of alien organisms.
The big story is the Freeworlds crew though, Sushi and his team of banditos. You know who I’m talking about, they’re all really ugly and smelly, god they stink like pig piss. NotsoFriendlyfire, that drunkard w0dk4, that nasty sizer guy who spits at everyone. Anyway, there’s loads of em and they stink, and they’re making this mod, and it’s gonna be like the BIGBANG when it happens.
So basically everybody is waiting for them to finish their mod so we can rape it of all it’s BIGBANG stuff and make all our stuff look really good. The End.

@Roo: Hi there, don’t think we ever spoke before. Been reading a lot of your posts here on the forums, very cool stuff m8! Since you haven’t been so active around here, I’m gonna take this opportunity to thank you for your work.
Recently started working on a new mod together with Akira - I believe you guys are acquainted. Compared to the overwhelming knowledge and skills among the people around here, Akira and myself are just leaving kindergarten lol. Nevertheless, we are really eager to learn by trial & (a LOT of) error and of course by reading all the tutorials and topics on these forums, which have proven themselves absolutely invaluable. Despite the steap learning curve, we are definitely making progress, albeit slowly but surely.
Might actually harass you with a couple of pm’s lol! j/k -
Timmy, that entire post was gold, good form. xD
But yes, as Mav said there’s definately a lot of modding going on, I count at least a dozen projects going on, and that’s only those that participate in the community either here on on tlr.org (god forbid).
This raises ire in some of our older community members in that it’s compartmentalizing the community even more, but in the end It’s just a bunch of new people doing something fun.
And good to see you make an appearance Roo, like Mav I’ve never had the pleasure to speak with you, but I can tell you’ve been a great and contributory member of the Freelancer modding community, just by lookin’ at ya (posts).
-
Roo’s one of the founding fathers of TSP
-
That’s something I thought, but wasn’t game enough to declare. xD
Good stuff.
-
Haha rooey, nice to see you around again!
As for mods, I think…eh…CF 1.8/1.82 got released meanwhile, iirc also new SW:WT versions.
FW:TOW is announced to be published in December of THIS year. Hehe.

Thanks for all the responses. I had to open MS Word to draft my reply so I could ensure I responded to each and every one of you.
@ Timmy51m – I think I am going to get along perfectly well with you. What a response. You summed up FriendFire and w0dk4 perfectly in that response. I love it! Never have I seen them described so perfectly. Pure class.
@ Maverick – Hi, pleasure is all mine. Yes, Akira and I originally meet on TFL (TopFreelancers) a number of years ago. TFL was my first ever FL server and I eventually joined the Admin team there. I am glad to see Akira, with yourself, working on a Mod of your own. I saw the topic with a description of your project. It looks really good. Please keep me updated and do feel free to send me a PM with anything you might need.
@ Bobthemanofsteel – Again the pleasure is all mine. It’s nice to see new faces around and thanks for your kind words. I agree, it is great to see new people taking up modding projects and adding to the community as a whole.
@ FriendlyFire – I was? Holy cow, it’s been so long since the first day we registered on the new forum, it almost feels like a dream.
@ Bas – Good to see you are still lurking around in the shadows How are things with you?
(Sorry, I think I completely took this thread and turned it off topic!!!)

Nice, ty.
Ya know, ya won’t get rid off me just as ya don’t get rid off a fly through ignoring, haha!
