Weird Glitchiness in Menus and when targeting station

Installing FL to nre netbook (Win7, Starter Home)
Found a weird glitch I never encountered before (having installed FL to XP, Vista and Win7 comps):
-
When in a Menu (Options, but also Ship Properties etc) I see weird diagonal flashes of deformed text zapping over my screen. This stops when I bring the mouse pointer over an option box (in Options) or over the closing cross in the corner (Ship Props).
-
In-Flight I get a similar error (not with text, just diagonal flashing lines) when I target a station and aim the mouse pointer at the targeting box. Moving the mouse pointer far from it, stops the glitchy behaviour.
This glitch doesn’t seem to be more serious than just effing annoying.
I suppose it is either some simple setting I can adjust, or some rotten compatibility issue in Win7 Home that I just have to live with.
I’m curious what causes it, and how to solve it! Any ideas anyone?

I experienced something similar when I tried installing onto Win7 on a netbook. Sounds like a driver issue to me. It may be worth looking to see if you can install older drivers rather than the Win7 ones.

Thx!! Will look into that, but not immediately (will have to let it rest for a while).
Win7 Home Starter sucks, it appears. I just found out this:
Windows 7 Starter edition comes with one desktop background, which can’t be changed or customized.

It all worked forne on my old (dead) netbook, which also didn’t have Win7 Home Starter on it. Actually the vendor often don’t tell (and prolly don’t even know themselves) what Win version is on it. Why MS released a crappy version is beyond me. Still pissed I can’t change the desktop bg. You need permission of TrustedInstaller for that. As soon as I’ll have the time and connection, I’ll go search the web for a solution for that (I hope that eventually TrustedInstaller’s password will be on the streets).

I had the same problem at one point when I used to play Disco
I believe it stems from Video Card incompatibility, or drivers.
Can’t remember which fixed it, I know I got a new card around that point, so if drivers don’t work you might be out of luck on that machine.
