Dyson Sphere - Exit Point Inconvenient…
-
I’m using the Dyson Sphere door to enter the Dyson Sphere, and on the inside I have a Nomad jumpgate jumping back out.
Problem is that when exiting the Dyson Sphere, you appear on the back side of the shell requiring you to do the F1 trick to get out to the correct side.
I’d like to create an invisible jump point for that hole to go to that would be outside the Dyson Sphere.
I was thinking of using a hazard buoy and turning one into a jump object but even that would be too visible.
Any suggestions on how I might make this happen?
Or, does anyone know how to make the player respawn on the correct side of the Dyson Sphere?
I redirected the jump_out_hp on the dyson_airlock to HpDockPointA01 which is well outside the face of the dyson door, but that doesn’t seem to be the answer. -
One idea would be to use the invisible “Nomad Airlock” used by the Nomad Lair and Dyson Sphere inner by default. Turn it into a jumphole type object, place it ahead of the Dyson Sphere main entrance, give it a visit = 128 flag and have the Nomad Gate in St03b redirect to the invisible airlock. Since you won’t be able to see it or target it, most people probably won’t notice it or find it easily.

OK, so 2 holes outside the dyson sphere.
1 is the docking door on the dyson surface, that gets you into the base.
2nd is off the surface somewhere and uses the Nomad Airlock archetype. The hole inside the dyson sphere jumps to that hole instead.Am I following?
I’ll give that a shot.
Thx.

You need to use two completely different jumps.
Dyson door (visible, visit = 0) -> dyson airlock (invisible, visit = 128 ).
Then nomad gate (visible, visit = 0) -> dyson airlock (invisible, visit = 128 ) back.
Move the dyson airlock about +600 above the door to be sure you don’t end up under the dyson floor.

Fantastic. That’s just what I’m looking for and it works great.
Thanks much.
Now if only I could get that to work inside the Lair Core.
