hi I use Gimp for editing the tga files extracted with the UTF
But… I change Juni´s hair color and juni´s clothes colors and then i re-import and save … then when I open FL and go see Juni … I see a disaster … the texture changes and all I see is noise
How is exactly the way to edit the tga?
Another thing I would love to do is get juni´s model and import it on blender or 3dStudiomax
Is there any way to do this?

Try not to save with compressed TGA or get the gimp dds plugin and save the textures as dds : http://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/downloads/list
For the moment i don`t know any editor that imports and exports characters 3D models (.def). -

Nothing can import the DEF files but is there a way to convert it?

So I just saved a non compressed tga
I only tried with MIP0
and this is what i gotI dont know why the face has ruined if i only painted her hair red O.o

Freelancer does not care how many layers you have and if there is one texture file used for both the hair and the face and the file is screwed up, so it is completely and not partially.
Since there is no transparency channels in Juni’s character textures, you can index the colors and save space saving the TGA. Can’t tell what the problem is though. I always used Photoshop. -
Gimp works too and it’s open source.

Try flipping the image vertically before you save it as a TGA file. Has to be done in freelancer unfortunately.

ok ok I downloaded an old portable Photoshop :X
I edited the MIP0 and MIP1
saved it as Tga uncompressed and indexed
Now she looks like this:
There you can see that the hair has pieces of the old texture O.o
Why!!
I edited the two MIP and there is such an old MIP ghost
Dxhere is the tga … maybe someone could help me

Try deleting the MIP that you are not using, if only MIP0 exists in the file then it’s the only one that will be used. If that doesn’t fix it then must be layers.

I even took a screenshot of my tga and then made a NEW tga and paste the thing there

So as Sumanuti said… must I edit the MIP without effects?
just pixel art?? That´s too much work just to turn Juni into a hot-redhead-asian
The thing I was doing was:
-Turn this tga indexed image into a RGB tga image
-New Layer
-Paint the hair red, then apply blur in the corners
-Turn the red layer into a semitransparent red so it goes upon the hair and then the hair has the same drawings but the black turns red
-“Lipstick” on juni (same steps as with the hair)
I edited the eyes too, now they are green but it seems they have the same problem
what do i do people I´ve seen a black haired trent so it must be possible

Not too long ago I created Trent’s new head texture, and now I will try to do that with Juni’s head too, but the result is not appropriate, it seems too wavy because of the strong and contrasting lines of the hair. But I work on it, and if it is ready, I will share with you. Here’s some picture of what I mean:
