Hello all,
After making the core of the missions in my modification im now add NPC (and other stuff) to make them more action packed.
Without giving too much away about the mission, theres basically all hell breaking loose between some fighters/factions whose greed, poverty or plain blood lust has got the better of them… anywaysDoes anybody know a good round number for the number of NPC to be spawned before graphics are effected. I made a quick video on a pc that has intergrated graphics (yea i know ) and ive noticed that the trail effects and explosions have been effected with 146 NPC fighting.
Better missle and explosion effects might be added to the modification. would changing loadouts make any difference if the NPC were packing more missile launchers instead of guns?
I do know that alot will be mod vs pc and just needs testing, but i would like to hear peoples thoughts that have already been through this kind of thing.thanks for any responce Khayman.

I did tinker with vanilla fl some time ago, the zone outside manhatten. It was simple stuff, just upping the density. I thought things started to get a bit messy after around 50 ships, but only when large numbers were spawning at the same time. After they had spawned it was less of an issue.
This was some time ago though and likely on my old core2 duo system, and no doubt this would really be dependant upon your system specs. Everyone is going to have a different number for you.
How the hell are you going to achieve ballance with that many ships in a fight anyway? Might look cool from a distance but up close and personal it would just piss me off.
