[Freelancer Coding News]Dramatic Graphic Improvements for Freelancer!

…. once more … I can’t resist:
I bet Xarians mod is much longer in beta or alpha status,
than this baby here.
Sorry Xarian, but i HAD 2 do this, something forced me ……
It’s free, it’s nice
- and no one earns an angry comment,
cause it takes a little more time, than you d expect.

I well know the feeling of waiting overlong for something you want. If it reassures you, know that I too am tired of waiting for the mod to be released, if only so that I can stop having all that pressure and can move on to other things

What you’re saying is that we should have said we’d keep it for ourselves, or what? Nobody is entitled to anything we’re doing.Funny that when Freelancer took years more than anticipated, people just salivated and waited patiently. I don’t recall people throwing their toys out of the pram because obviously they were purposefully delaying all of this.
I mean #$%%, these things take inordinate amounts of time. This is one of those cases where I’d say shut up if you don’t know what you’re talking about. You should be happy to know you’ll get it at all, happy the entire thing merely exists.
It’s infuriating just how entitled people can be. Shadow mapping took me a MONTH to get right, and that’s just one small piece. And now you mean to tell me you not only want it, but you also want it NOW? Screw you. You’re not paying me, you’re not even helping me.
This will be done when it’s done. We’re close, but we’re not there yet. I can’t believe I’m having to write all of this.
You tit! You know I respect you and everyone else in your team. You can stomp up and down on me as much as you want, I’m too old for it FF, and I’m all out of medals sorry. Merely expressing an opinion in a light hearted way as usual, up to you how you take it.

This is going too far. Please drop this argument now everyone.Agreed.
We’re trying to get the mod as fast as we can. Unfortunately, we all lead busy lives and this hobby is just that, a hobby.
We have spent thousands of hours on this mod (just check our work logs) and finally the mod is getting close. The DX9 will come for all but we ask for patience and a bit of support.

Sometimes its good if you dont need to wait. It gives you more freedom
Furthermore i dont understand why everyone is waiting for it. Even if it would be released its not that all of the graphics are converted automatically. I think you need to add a bunch of work to get all the different textures ready to show the different mappings, add effects and and and…
Finally i think a release is ready when all the work is done. And the team wants to release it. Dunno but this question always reappears like a boomerang once in a while

There is no argument, never was. Something I said seems to have been taken the wrong way, and seeing as I’m not too big for it, I’ll apologise if I accidently offended anyone.
Looking forward to playing your mod guys, whenever that might be, and I’ve voted as many times as I can to show my appreciation for your efforts. Keep up the good work!

I don’t know why you think anything was directed at you, Timmy. This whole thing started with Xarian’s childish post, and largely went from there.
But yeah, all’s been said and done now.

Wait….you didn’t…it wasn’t…but I thought…
It’s a good job you already know I’m an idiot
-
So as I was saying … Nice job with all these enhancements guys ! The community will be a very happy place when you decide to release these sweet features to the public. The sooner the better
Now I’ll go back at my 3D stuff, i still have to UV unwrap that damn capital ship. -
Just wondering, could you redo Dev Video #13 (SW Epic Space Battle) as a new dev video using the latest mod?
