TRying to install patch in win7 home 64bit-please help

Can someone tell me how to install the patch I need for singleplayer? I am a old guy thats new to computers but would love to play FL. Ive tried to place the patch in the Microsoft Games–Frelancer folder but computer tells me Im not the Admin. I installed FL into Program Files x86 as version 1.0, from this point Im unsure what to do next. Id sure appreciate a step by step instruction on what to do. Thanks alot for your time and expertise.

Which patch? The adoxa’s JFLP v1.20 is the most stable SP patch atm (just run the .exe).
Maybe if u have further difficulties, change the FL installation location (try root of C disk).

I’m using win7 64 bit too, I used to have lots of problems with freelancer when it was installed here : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Freelancer.I un-installed freelancer and then re-installed it on my desktop, now I can do what I want with it.
Quick note - Make sure your pc windows account is an admin account.
Hopefully someone here could explain that better than what I can.Best of luck.

If you know how to un-install freelancer, then go ahead and do it.
Once it’s un-stalled you can start the install process, keep an eye on the on-screen instructions and you should see a part to change the directry. just change that from (x86) programs etc…. to Desk top.Hope it helps you.
