[Star Citizen News]Update on Star Citizen Development

Unlike the above comment, i think it looks excellent. Models look great, liked the lighting, fx, ship damage. Hope the rest of the gameplay is up to scratch. I love FL but it’s really showing its age against Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. Can’t wait for both.

Indeed whoever made that fighting scene was lazy but there’s no doubt about the quality of the graphics I’d be lying if I gave it a 10/10 cause it deserves more.

I guess some people will find fault with anything, except themselves maybe. Regardless, it looks better and better all the time now, can’t come soon enough

As for the dog fight. If it were me in the 300i, once he pulled that quick stunt, I most definitely would have taken evasive maneuvers instead of continuing to fly directly on front of him.

The ships will all be buyable with ingame money. This is just a form of dev support, the only advantage is that certain ships have or had lifetime insurance so you never lose them. You’ll be able to purchase insurance with ingame money though and it’s supposed to be fairly cheap relatively speaking.

Well, not all get Lifetime Insurance. That was intended for the 1st 100 Responders from what I know of. I may be wrong but, I think that’s what it meant? The Golden Ticket come with added assurances once the game started it’s development. The GT also came with free docking at all home bases. Outside of that, you have to pay docking fees. If they’re now giving out Lifetime Insurance to anyone that purchases a ship then, The 1st 100 Responders didn’t mean anything.
As for the ships and cost. Too high for my liking, anymore. All they amount to is, a digital picture in a game. Something you play with and nothing you actually own and for the prices of late, not worth it.
I’ve invested $300 into the game itself and an additional $500 in PC upgrades and I still have issues with the game after two years. I own two ships and no matter which ship I try to fly, both of the cockpits looks exactly the same. Yet, they are two different ships, not to add, my feet don’t reach the pedals and my hand never hold the controls. I look like a midget sitting in the seat. Not to add, I’m unable to mount my weapons.
I’ve pretty much marked this off as a loss.

I have to agree with HunterKiller. I have a GT and wouldn’t be very impressed if they give out the Lifetime Insurance for free with every new ship. Makes having a GT pretty pointless.

Lifetime insurance was given out on earlier packages, and remained lifetime if you bought them before a certain time. My Freelancer package has lifetime insurance, as does my Aurora. It’s nothing to do with only the first hundred get it. As far as i know, none of the current packages offer you lifetime insurance, only six months.
The Golden Ticket is for added in game extras which was given out to early bird signups which will be given to those pilots once the game is released and is a form of equipment upgrades, as i’ve just read it from my golden ticket.
Special offers are sometimes made offering lifetime insurance, as there was when i bought the Aurora, you need to look out for these.
As to the cockpits, well everything is still in development after all, look at the cockpits in Freelancer, shared between ships and nobody batted an eyelid. We’ll see how things develop, at least from my pointy of view before i start complaining about anything
