[The Starport News]Recent Site Downtime
-
Glad to see you again. I was afraid Starport had hit a bump
in the FreeLancer road like many of the sites are starting to do. Canât imagine FL ever going out, but RSI will probably start taking a lot of Lancers. I wonât, because it will probably be the 4th of Infinity before I can afford a new computer to play.[Needs quad-core and 8GB with a 1GB video card.].
Anyway, itâs good youâre still here.

The folks over at Space Sim Central are willing to provide a backup for anything required in case of any other downtime so that nothingâs ever lost.

You arse
Couldâve given news every so often at least!

One of our ânewâ hard disks is already failing so I will let our host change the hard drive some time next week. The downtime should not take longer than a day.
Another note on backups: Our site is now properly backed up, not only via RAID but also on a seperate backup space.

Canât seem to buy a reliable hard drive these days.

Nah, Hetzner just doesnât guarantee youâll get new equipment when they replace a hardware failure. We didnât get new HDDs.

Yeah, just gotta hope weâre luckier on the lottery this time
