I’ve just learned about Freelancer and started playing it for about two to three weeks now on the campaign side learning the controls and what to do.
My friend told me about this game to start me out on learning to mod but to put me in a class set im a player for now till I start learning to mod and other aspects. I have a windows 10 for HP which sucks but got to play the story line but not the online play due to figuring out why I cant put in a full username; meaning that half of the keyboard runs in dashes (-) than the letters. I’ve been stumped on how to fix this. -
Your keyboard works fine otherwise? It’s only doing this while trying to create a username in Multiplayer Freelancer?
If so you might have a bad install of Freelancer, either a corrupted source disk or the installation itself went bad.
Which OS are you using? I’m running FL with Windows 10 and no problems.
After installing Freelancer get the official MS update patch and install that also. Some have reported that running that patch clears up Multiplayer problems such as generating a MPID and other issues. When you install the update make sure you right click on the executable and choose the ‘run as administrator’ option.

ahh I actually found what the problem is and yes I think I do have a bad copy due to the fact that my account ID to type down cannot be found… but at least the single player works fine…
