Also, thank you all for your votes for the FWs mod at Mod DB. Our mod team is honoured and humbled by this accolade - being in the top 100 mods - and we really owe it to this community. We hope we can bring Freelancer more attention through our team efforts and subsequently, by strong communal links like the FLCN, show people the other incredible mods that are being produced by this community. Furthermore, congrats to the Crossfire mod as well for achieving their well deserved success.

Dear community members,
As some of you may know, FW:ToW has been voted in the top 100 mods, in the world, at Mod DB (www.moddb.com) . Thanks to your votes and support, we were able to beat out over 4000 other mods for this highly acclaimed title. Now that weāve reached the top 100, and phase 2 of voting has begun, we need your help more than ever.
The Freelancer (FL) player base has been dwindling in numbers as the game becomes more dated. However, itās modders, like the FW:ToW mod team, as well as several other mods (Crossfire, Shattered Worlds, Discovery, FLAK 88, Itano Circus, WTS, BSG, etc.)that fight to keep the game afloat. Itās because of this that I ask for you all not only to vote for Freeworlds: ToW for your favorite mod, but Crossfire, too.
The reason for this is that weāve begun an initiative over at āThe Starportā http://www.the-starport.net/ to keep FL alive. Using ModDB as a platform, we hope to show the world what amazing work weāre now able to accomplish, as well as display this game to new people who may not have heard of it before.
We all know that Freelancer has the right recipe that has kept us all hooked for all these years, now itās time to show others what we already know. So, please, when voting at ModDB, I ask you to vote for the great work done at the Crossfire mod (http://www.moddb.com/mods/crossfire) in addition to FW:ToW

Just wanted to show you all the new model/texture additions to the FW:ToW mod. Of special interest, the Imperial Star Destroyer which over 130k polygons and doesnāt slow up the game one bit

Definitely. We cut up the ISD in seven parts and then put it back together. Iād have to make a tutorial for the nit gritty, but Sovereign made me 7 different .cmps. In the main .cmp I put in the HpAttach01-HpAttach06. For the other 6 .cmps I put in HpConnect at 0,0,0 - since all the .cmps were based around that. I put in the proper code in the solar\loadouts.ini file, and the proper entry into the solararch.ini. The whole trick of it was making the 6 .cmps āshieldgeneratorsā. The game then attaches them to the ship that way Dev pioneered this trick about 2 years ago. Aldebaran used it for his scenery components.
So, this 130k poly model, is essentially 7 15k models to the FL engine. To us, it looks as one 130k model.

Ya, when I find the time to do it, Iāll make one. The issue right now is that Iām doing a few tutorials for some peeps in different mods and its getting busy in med school now, so, youāll have to wait a few weeks until things settle down for me.
