Subtitles Revisited [BETA]

Hi Jeider,
thanks for letting me know. But if JFLP is changing something graphically, I assume that it may not be avoidable with FLSubs. The tool works as is, with the version that the readme specifies of JFLP.
I’m not in disposition of change the tool every time that JFLP is changed. I didn’t even remember the screenshot you are posting in-game. Maybe this is an addon or a new component. And I only made the tool for the vanilla game.
Furthermore, how is that you have 2 subtitles? Maybe JFLP is adding some subtitle feature?
Sorry.
Regads.

What I’m thinking is that you must use the cinematic type of subtitles for the black background. The dynamic subtitles has not the black background. Check this.
As I can see, the cinematic subtitles has the black background, right? The subtitles you are using (on top) do not have it because you probably are using another type of subtitles.
In the readme I explain the types of subtitles you can use.

Had a problem. I creating my mod on Windows XP. And forgot rename back d3d8.dll on my Windows 10. This cause error on running of Converter.exe. And removes subtitles.xml after clicking “Enter” on keyboard… Thanks to my backups. But can you fix it?
-
Jeider,
As far as I know, subtitles.xml is not deleted by converter.exe tool. It only reads the file, and outputs new files (.dat), never changing or updating subtitles.xml. So, it is very odd for me to see that converter.exe has deleted subtitles.xml.
Apart of this, I did this mod because I wanted to see subtitles in the vanilla version of the game, and see the subtitles of the cinematics for my specific project to translate them into Spanish. I do not give support to the tool. The tool needs DirectX11. I’m not sure if you could use it well in Windows XP.
I recommend you update the tool for your purposes. I’m not the real author of the tool either, you can check another posts, although I added more features than the original one. So, this is why I posted here, if anyone wanted to use it for its own transaltion of the vanilla cinematic subtitles of the game.

Lazaro, you’ve done a great work, thanks a lot! Some notes:
1. It doesn’t work “as is” with JFLP 1.20/1.25 therefore need to execute Converter.
2. The first news is not yellow on top due to TextArea=“Cinematics” instead “News”.
3. It would be nice to get “subtitles 1600/1920x1200.cfg” from you.
4. English text would be better to correct by checking “shooting_script” from Bonus DVD.Just for the record, I switch “auto hide maneuver bar” to “enabled” and “Ingame” subtitle field doesn’t bother me.

Dear guys, do anyone know what the error below means? I tried to install subtitles exactly according to the readme. Patch 1.1, JFLP 1.2, jflpdll, dacom.ini fix and the copy the files into the game directory. After first run, no subtitles were displayed. I used 1920x1080 cfg and run Converter. No subtitles either. Weird texture glitches started to appear instead. Another converter.exe did not went well, returned this error:
*** ERROR ***
MMException: MMSYSERR_NODRIVER
v Converter.AudioProcessing.AudioHasher.Convert(Byte[] data, MPEGLAYER3WAVEFORMAT fmt, WAVEFORMATEX& dstfmt)
v Converter.AudioProcessing.AudioHasher.Hash(Stream str, Hack hack)
v Converter.Pipeline.EntryConverter.Run()
v System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke()
v System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute()Do you know what I did wrong? Thank you all.

Can anyone help me applying this patch? My potato sound card broke and the urge to do some freelancing does not go away.
I installed the game, patched to 1.1 and applied Jason’s patch and jflp 1.25 (can’t find the versions the mod readme file ask for).
I applied the subtitle patch and ran the converter. Thing is, with the patch active the game will crash. Do I need video card supporting DX11?
Any easy to understand guide step-by-step to getting this patch to work?

Can anyone help, when i ran converter, the mod started glitching all cutscenes that have dialogue

@NightWinder21 check your screen resolution. Glitches happens when subtitles plugin tries to render something outside the screen
