Need help with converting…

Hey everyone, what’s up?
Well anyways, I’ve been playing single player for a while now and I’m wanting to mod a some ships into it for variety. I’m a big fan of Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis and thought it would be cool to play with some ships from that show. There aren’t a ton of ships from Stargate in the Freelancer community but there are a ton of Stargate ships in the Bridge Commander modding community and I found a nice tutorial in The Starport’s download section that is just for doing that. (Click here, it’s the one at the bottom)
I’ve downloaded everything necessary (Milkshape 3D, DDS Converter, Hard-CMP, UTF Editor, NIF Importer for Bridge Commander files and CMP exporter.) and have been following the tutorials directions just as it says but when I get to the step to open the CMP in HardCMP, I get this
when it should look something like this.
So, any ideas?

how amny polies is that thing!
also, if you want i can take a look at the files for you
could just be a model problem, tho it could be just its exporting badly ^^ as i said, if you want i could take a look at the files for you

Possibly try that:
– check version of CMP exporter (i think there are different ones)
– disable SUR or CMP/3ds IMPORTER (not sure i think it was the SUR stuff which mixed up things a bit)– try to run the model cleaner in milkshape
This will possibly get you 2 a point, where the model looks similar in Milkshape,
as the thing you got in HardCMP.– maybe try 2 rename groups and materials
to something unique (like deadalus01, deadalus02, …)
and without special chars. Not sure if anything of the above can or will have an effect
but that’s what i might try 2 do.And sometimes we just live with the junk-output and
– try to find another similar model
(possibly with lower polygons)
