Plugins from features included in '88 Flak's FLHook
-
Anybody else having issues with the flak_common plugin? I’m running Windows XP, so I can’t really determine if Vista is the problem.
@F!R: having multiple items for each restriction wouldn’t be hard to implement. I’ll consider it for the next version. Unfortunately, I don’t have any timeframe for when the new version would be released due to time constraints.

well i cant just do that with vista, trust me i would love to run this server on XP, but removing vista is harder than installing it. and my other computer with XP is just crap, i reallly wish someone could find a fix for vista, i reformatted my computer completely and STILL does not work, new install of everything, even fresh FLhook installs, and i cant load it, what am i missing, what is required to run the plugin?

Bumping this topic from the dusty corners of this site because I’m having the exact same problem as jase.
Running on 7 x64, FlakCommon fails to load and the whole server crashes shortly afterwards. If I use other plugins like condata or tempban, it works fine, but FlakCommon and anything depending on it can’t be loaded.
What is FlakCommon built upon that could differ between XP and Vista/7?

Gravedigging = a great hobby^^
Try compatibility mode on windows xp sp2
Works fine for me (windoof 7 x32)When i tried another “mode” i cant even start flserver.exe

Nope, no go. Might be a x64 thing then.

If that code access’ the registry at any point or does anything in the System32 folder or so on and Automatic WOW Redirection does not apply to FLHook (not sure why it would not) FLHook will probably crash, for example FL’s registry keys are stored in Wow6432Node on an x64 system and not in the usual place - had a similar problem with Biocross…

Tried copying the Freelancer node in the “standard” key to no avail

As far as Vista was concerned, it seems to refuse to run on inferior code…. Â ;D LoL, Sorry…
I was unaware of anyone having issue on Windows 7. But one question that might be relevant on your Win 7 install. Is it a Clean Complete Codeset Install or one of the Shortcut Beta Overlay/Upgrades your to apply to a working Vista Install?

Wait, you actually think I would’ve scrapped my computer by putting Vista on it?

Muhahaha, NO…
But having seen real “Inherited” issues from previous Overlay / Upgrades it was good to make certain it was not. As it could have been a actual Vista issue hiding inside Windows 7.
Microsoft is a terrible housekeeper, junk is never deleted from the Windows install.
