A quick and lazy question
(before i start digging in our hacked stuff):Does anyone have a working ‘docking_sphere = moor_medium’?

… after some testing i m more curious.
4 me it seems not to work.
Docking sequence starts - but never ends (with a docked ship).Any hints?

moor_medium is a special moor designed for good cinematic appearances of freighters & transports “docking” to trade, they do not dock and so they do not disappear from view.
Player ships will also just "moor’ to them but will not dock. So this is your “problem”, it’s not a problem, it’s a game feature.
You have to use jump or berth for player ships. If you set your NPC freighters/transports to use large moors or berths in mshipprops.ini, you will see they will dock and disappear just like player ships do.

If i understand correct you want to pick ship sizes who are allowed to dock at a certain base or planet?
I don’t know if FLhook has it, and if it doesn’t have a look at w0dk4 or any other module dev very sweet in the eyes to create it, but FLAC (Freelancer Anti Cheat) has a feature where you can add ships to a certain dock group, and add dock groups to certain stations or jumpgates/holes so you can for instance protect open SP hole smugling routes for massive trade ships.
FLAC also provides instant moore docking without changing the solararch.ini to set that large more to JUMP. - not the answer i wanted 2 hear, but …

yea - something like
– xtra big ships dock shipyards + avery few bases + planets only (jumps)
– big ships additional dock some more big bases (large Moors)
– medium ships additional dock some almost all bases (med Moors)
– small ships dock every thingAnd yes
- putting some not transferable equipment on the ships according 2 size might make that possible with M0tah’s FLHook 1.60
PS. I don’t like software with ‘minimum donations’.

Maybe not, but it has the features you want and i don’t know how long it will take before FLhook has a plugin to accomplish the same behaviour.
Im just pointing out that its allready around somewhere, not saying you have to “donate” FLAC. -
Press escape during the docking sequence, you’ll go to planet. If you can find out how to make that happen somehow in the game, exe hack or whatever, then good luck
If you press escape too late (ie let the cinematic run too long), it’ll fail to work. So it must be done during the sequence.

Dockgroups certainly is something server admin / modder wants.
Its realy nice to make sure that certain ships can’t dock at a certain base or dock at a certain jumpholes.I realy hope, w0dk4, that you will find time to implement that into a plugin. I allready made great usage of dockgroups in that other program whats around, even tho you have to donate something to get it.
Dockgroups are also fun to have them on certain ships who are dockable, its ace for RP when you have a large train and you can have players dock on it with lvl 5 or 6 ships (or atleast small ships) and that they can pop out when a nasty pierat or a hunter wants to stop you for what ever you were doing with that trader.

That’s what i d call a ‘feature’.
The given stuff is just an other ‘undocumented restriction’.This would be a nice feature 2 balance bigger ships
beyond the size of a VHF.
