Thatās why Iām asking if someone who has 3DS Max would be so kind as to perform the conversions for me since the ships themselves are already set to be exported.
I use Wings3D for all my modelling and the files are in OBJ format with smooth and hard edges applied so they just need to be converted to CMP, MAT, and SUR files.
Actually just looking for a bit of an assist with exporting ships utilizing the CMP exporter for 3DS Max. I have the ships ready to go with their smooth and hard edges already designated but I donāt have 3DS Max.
Anyone out there willing to give a fellow modder a hand with these exports?
Working a Mass Effect universe post-ME3 frigate design. Supposed to be a more advanced successor to the Normandy.

Have to agree with Sizer. UV mapping is the biggest pain in the butt ever. After that, making a good texture is rather easy.
Iām personally a fan of the Double Zeta and Gundam Unicorn time periods of the UC timeline because of the mobile suit designs. You finally get transformable grunt suits and some really cool ship designs like the refit Nahel Argama, Rewloola, and Musaka classes.
I already have several ship designs from the period modeled and textured:
Nahel Argama
Nahel Argama Kai
Salamis (modified custom design)
Clop (standard)
Clop (Reinforce-type)
Clop (White Ark-type)
Plus I think being able to fly the MSN-008 ZII or the RGZ-95 ReZel would be awesome since they could be set up to transform when using their cruise engines
My inspiration for the design came from both āBlood and Chromeā and āRazorā lol.
Iād be all for this and willing to help but Iām not a fan of the 0087 time period.

Itās actually based on the Guardian Basestar from BSG: Razor but I duplicated the upper section for the lower part. I may also model the original lower section from Razor since it provides a slightly different look.
Finally built something new. Anyone want to take a guess as to what it may be?

Downloaded and seeding for the benefit of others
I purchased and downloaded one of Angryflyās (turbosquid.com) cruiser packs and did some work on the textures to come up with these. Textures have been increased in resolution, I went and completely redid the windows on one ship to make the ship bigger, and tweaked the length of the ships to help eliminate the āshort and stockyā feel of them.
If anyone is willing to help me with getting these in game in their own little universe, Iād be more than happy to help put together a little mod for them.

Ne waysā¦ what about the possibilty of having FLHook auto-trigger cruise disruption. This would work for a cruise count-down as cruise disrupt has a timed disruption countdown during which you cannot re-initiate cruise. This should also not affect server performance as cruise disruption is handled client-side only?
Just a thoughtā¦ Hopefully this has solved my own problem lol.
I didnāt really add any of the other main hull details as I was losing patience while shaping the main hull and trying to make sure it was proportionately correct. Looks good so far as far as the overall look goes though.
Figured Iād put my latest ship model out there in the community. To anyone who bothers texturing this ship (itās broken into pieces and already UV mapped), all I ask for is your textured version back.
