I don’t know for you, but by jumping on him, you kinda show he was right.
I don’t even know why this thread even derailed; OP has made a personnal decision not to come here, but he can decide to lift that whenever he wishes.
Mind your own business people?

…. by jumping on him, you kinda show he was right. …
Some behavior just earns a comment.
That doesn’t show bad treatment of that person,
but that this person should think about their own actions.censoredcensoredcensoredcensoredcensored* ……

Oh how little things change. I’m in no way affiliated with the SWAT portal but i’ve grown tired of all this non stop bitching that goes on. It never stops, like a bunch of cats in a bag, it really is ludicrous. I’m not defending OP either, he’s big enough to do that himself, what does upset me is the constant moaning at anyone in particular who doesn’t share the overall view of whatever is being discussed.
I’ve had my runins with OP over the years as some of you can testify but they were just heated differences of opinion (we are adults after all and can move on without resorting to childish behaviour), the same as i have with a number of other people, including members of the Discovery group who plague my server with constant “come to Discovery, its the best” and so on. This doesn’t include the verbal abuse i get from their players, but do i flame the Discovery mod and its occupants? No (even though i’m tempted sometimes but i know its not the mod makers, just a few brain damaged souls)
I’ve had an opportunity recently to publicise Freelancer through a major gaming magazine but did i bother asking for opinions from other people? The hell i did because i knew what would happen. I chose to butter my own slice of bread thankyou very much and talk about my Phoenix mod which will be getting coverage and also making it onto the publications cover cd. I could have mentioned some of the other mods but no, i chose not to. And with good reason.
The one thing i’ve learnt from doing FL modding IS to keep things to yourself, ignore everyone else and just do your own thing, simply because this community couldn’t cross the road without an argument breaking out. This is why i no longer give permission for my ship packs to be used and why i won’t share “all” the Starlancer models that i managed to recently extract from Starlancer that have all been converted to FL. I’m tired of being ripped off, misquoted, sworn at, to name but a few things from various members of the “community”.
So when the opportunity presented itself for me to get the chance to do a bit of self promotion with my mod, i took it, and that is that. Maybe if the communities could be bothered to be on friendlier terms then i would have shared the info but no. I’ll carry on doing my own thing and that’s how it’s going to stay. Bollocks to everyone else

I’ll give it go for a while.
Keep it nice people, otherwise we have to lock it.
OP didn’t come back, he just promotes his mod, whats wrong with that?
And for others as well. Please stop accusing people or complete communties for unfair treatment.
If you have problems with it take it up in PM to the involved people, if you need help in getting in contact with certain members or admins you allways can post here for their info. Its peoples own choise to not share info, tools etc to the community, some will say it is unfair others will say its their good right.
I think its up to the developer or modder to decide what he gave free, and to who he gives away certain tricks or tools. My 2 cents.

It his decision and so I don’t blame him for it. If he wants to visit and support T SP, then he will do, if he doesn’t want, then it is his decision.

guess what…. please remove this thread… and remove the original thread aswell.
It was a stupid idea… one that will never happen again.certain individuals will never stop the crap and I wonder what I ever have done to them to receive such a treatment after I served the lancer community for more than 9 years meanwhile with knowledge, help, resources and every other possible kind of support. Fine treatment… thank you.
so please remove those threads… I wont bother you again

SHAKES HEAD then thinks to himself COMMUNITY were ?
no wonder players leave freelancer cant be bothered with all the drama.
-
:-[
freelancer survives by the hard work and creation of these modders and then the players to reward them for their work by supporting them by playing. we all need each other. ppl have their own opinions and these forums are so they can express them. survival and progress -
Always drama…

After spending many lurking and occasionally posting, I honestly need to say something.
Almost all of you, are pathetic, even me to an extent
I spent time with so many other modding communities, but coming back to Freelancer just makes me cringe.
Every last thing is always bicker bicker bicker, argue, this community sucks, this mod does this, this mod does that, they all suck, etc.
I’ve seen games that were in much worse situations than Freelancer that ended up better simply because of a united community.
Look at Half-Life, look at Morrowind, look at Oblivion, all games that have been able to keep strong because of amazing modding communities.
And look at us. The majority of people who actually know about Freelancer think the modding community is awful.
I’ve finally been able to accept that Microsoft will NEVER, EVER release Freelancer 2, the source code, just deal with it.
WE however, have a chance to create a Freelancer 2, all our modders might argue, and many are immature, but god damn, they have talent, and talent could finally make that dream mod we all look for, and it wouldn’t take just one person, but all of us.
Right now, I’m with OP, that chance is so low it might as well be impossible.
But they said that things like Morrowind and Oblivion going online was impossible, and that happened, thanks to the community. So for those who can’t read that much text, and want a shortened version. Here:
If you don’t stop being immature, and work together, Freelancer will die. Painfully.
And I doubt you’ll ever stop arguing about who’s mod is best to actually do that.
