Pop up atmospheres

After getting around to making new planets and adding atmospheres, one thing i’ve noticed is you can be flying towards your new planet, in this case Io near Jupiter,

And then all of a sudden, the atmosphere magically appears

My question really is this, is there a way to increase the view of the atmosphere from far away so it just doesn’t magically appear?

EDIT The magic distance seems to be around 17.5K from a planet and then the atmosphere kicks in, just checked this on all the other moons i have in my Jupiter system

Have you tried messing with your LOD levels for the planet?

They are set to 100k. If it was that then the planet wouldn’t appear at all. This issue is purely related to the atmosphere appearing LS. There might be a view range setting for it somewhere, trick is where? lol
